Is there a problem with that failure and running models? Like: Do they crash more often or something? (It was called TBA or something like that.. |

Is there a problem with that failure and running models? Like: Do they crash more often or something? The Phenom 9500 and 9600 had the TLB errata. Most motherboards had the fix for the TLB errata as a default of ON, in their BIOS. Some motherboards, you could turn the fix off, with some performance gain. I tried running 4 instances of Prime95 in Windows with the fix turned OFF in BIOS, and it would crash after some time. I never tried cpdn with the fix off. With the fix ON, it worked fine. In Linux, recent versions of the operating system kernel automatically had the fix ON, with little to no performance penalty. So running 4 instances of Prime95 with the fix turned OFF in BIOS, still resulted in a stable system that was faster than turning the fix ON in BIOS. More recent Phenoms (the 9x50 series) do not have the errata, and should not have any issues with cpdn (beyond those you might have anyway). |
