Why did I lose about 1300 Total Credits...1 minute I had about 10,400 & then shortly after that I had only 9224 Credits...Is there some reason for this deduction of Credits...Please Explain...??? My Recent Credits stayed the same though...Weird ...:/

As far as I can tell it looks to me like all the Credits came off this Host "http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1114" ...

Something goofy is going on with the Host anyway, the other day I reported the same Trickle Result Twice within a few Minutes & it has happened several times since then...Now this morning I see the same Trickle Result Reported 3 times within a few Minutes of each other...

an upgrade of BOINC software had messed up the credits, so I am running a "recalculation" query based on trickles to get everyone the proper credits.

My total credits look fine now, but the recent average credits looks completely screwed! I reckon they've doubled everywhere. My PC has gone from about 150 to 300, and the top PC has gone from 700 to 1400!

yeah, well recent average credits are calculated against a "half life", but for us it's really the total credits. so since I just reran the trickles &amp; stats update, everything will look "newer" hence higher recent avg credits

Yes, but now I've lost 2000 Total Credits now that you ran the update... :0

I know my Total Credits can't be right, on my 3.06 PC I had around 800-900 Total credits, now I only show 75.61 Credits...Even if Credits where deducted for WU's that failed or discontinued I would have more than 75.61 Total Credits on that computer because I've turned in 2 Trickle Results since last night on it and if thats all I would get it would come to more than 75.61...

Plus my 3.2 PC is still missing the 1300 credits it lost before you ran the Update...

Hello,

Boinc created three hosts for me and I had just merged them yesterday. After the merge I still had a record of my trickles and my credits. This morning I have no record trickles or credits. Are you still calculating? Or are they gone, gone, gone?

I was at just over 900 credits. Doesn't really matter, but I am curious.

I noticed that my credits have been going in reverse today as well ,
started off at 28k , then down to 25k , now its at 18K.

I did do a merge the other day after a reinstall ?

It may be that just credits from runs that failed to complete have gone , which is fine by me as it never felt right getting credit for them anyway.

I had a couple of machines fail to complete the run due to running out of disk space, not sure how boinc accounted for the needed space for two runs at he start (on hyperthreaded machines).

==========

I have no problem with that either as I expected them to maybe be gone some day, but I know I've lost some Credit for a Wu I'm running right now because the PC thats running it only show's 1 Trickle Credit when I've turned in 2 since last night on that WU...

Unfortunately 2 results shows up with 0 trickles, but 5+ days cpu-time. Since this was with the beta-version and fairly early on in the model did as recommended a reset so can't trickle any more.
Also, 2 other results that crashed for some mysterious reason after crunching some days isn't even showing up...

Even if isn't getting credit for these, they should show up atleast...

This user (ID 1208) of our team has no finished runs (I think), as he signed up August 25, 2004.

At Tue 07 Sep 07:22:14 2004 GMT 'ATOPH' was credited for 756 total points, equivalent to 6,25 Model-Years, with RAC 104.

Now see for yourself at his account http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=1208

I'am being so detailed in an attempt to maybe help out here. But ATOPH of course isn't very happy with his new team rank :-(

The problem with the missing credits may be related to a problem of a lost of some trickles in the database since the upgrade of the BOINC software.

Few weeks ago, I merged "Host ID" #181 with "Host ID" #1245. With host #181, I crunched 421525 seconds on <a href="//climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=4652">WU 4652</a>. My computer also sent 11 trickles for this WU.

Now the status of <a href="//climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=4652">WU 4652</a> is still active, CPDN server had lost all trickles previously sent even if 421525 seconds of processing is still in the WU records.

This "lost" may explains some missing credits!

15-20,000 pieces of my rockpile went away overnight. As with other posts, this seems related to the update routine not finding merged machines. The biggest bite was taken from the box that upchucked after a recent power failure.

Obviously something is very wrong at the cpdn end as my credit has gone down by yet another 10k (thats 20k gone so far today), I think most if not all of that is from machines that were only added to cpdn a couple of days ago, all of which are still running fine.

I'm rerunning again so credits may be nonexistent for a little while. I think the problem is unfortunately the old boinc feeder had a bug that would sometimes lose the results-&gt;workunit-&gt;user-&gt;host "mapping". It was OK while I was doing the usual "incremental" credit a la BOINC, but now when I regenerate from scratch (a la the usual "classic CPDN" method), these workunits are missing their associated information (i.e. pointing to nonexistent workunit for a result). So I'm afraid the lesson for me is "never rerun all stats" as I usually do/did on CPDN, well at least not for before the feeder bug was fixed, which was about a week or two ago. I'm trying to recover some from an old backup but I'm afraid there may be some lost credits, hopefully not too much! I guess it would have been better to have left the "extra credit" bug in for completed runs rather than botch the current stats.

Mine has literally dropped 2k in the last 20 minutes (1907 I am sending this) but is now picking up (just gone up 600). Contrary to you shady it seems to be my machine that was in the beta test that took the hit. Last trickle earlier today was just after 1700 then it went back to 1/9 now it is back to 3/9. I presume the recalculation is going on and has reached me - might also explain my Server State Inactive (see separate thread).

Phew. I was just watching my credits changing, and my trickles disappearing, thinking I was going mad ;-)

Is there a simple way the user stats pages could be changed to say 'Stats unavailable - please try again later' or something when the data was being rerun? I think it'd avoid a lot of confusion.

I presume that the credits are lost because the trickes are lost. If so, do these "lost" trickles affect the <b>science</b> of the wu's currently under analysis? Do we plow on, or dump them and get new ones?

Thx

Trickles are mainly fun stats, &amp; let the core team know which models are still crunching - it's the final results upload that really matters...

They're really bizarre at the moment - according to my current stats page, my latest trickles were on 5Th September &amp; some of my computers have never trickled at all.
