The problem for Mac users on this project, is that they\'re so few, and only visit when they have a problem. So it may be a long time before anyone else who uses one shows up.
And the project person who knows about Macs is away.

I wonder whether the graphics application is crashing while the model continues. Cristoval, you could test the graphics card with help from Thyme Lawn\'s instructions and if necessary update the drivers. This is a free download from the web - no need to buy anything.

I suspect not, those instructions apply to Windows machines, not Macs.

No worry. You are not alone.
Most of us in the core team use a mac these days, and I have been a
test user since Core2 mac was introduced.

We don\'t always have the latest machine, though!

Thank you for your post Hiro. I have yet to get the graphics running. The main portions now stay on the screen and the lower left will cycle view and update state. however, Earth does not turn and there is no active graphic upon it. Any Ideas? Thank you all.

The "turning" part is user selectable. As with all of the options, the default is off.
Pressing "H" will display a list of the options. "S" will start/stop rotation.

Rotation can be made permanent by one of the options in the graphics section of climateprediction.net preferences in your account page on the server.

Good to hear this.

Recently, we have acquired an macbook with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and an imac with NVIDIA GeForce GT 130. The macbook has been working fine, including the graphics, and the imac will be a new testing & development machine.
