Only news is that I've reported it and it's being investigated.

Watch News and Announcements here or here.

Is it just me or have other noticed with all the updates and successes regarding the hardware that trickles haven't updated in several days? I haven't seen any note about this elsewhere, though it may be in some non news thread.

I think it's fairly clear that all of us have noticed. The reported values have been a little suspect since 23rd actually.

We're waiting for Monday to arrive in the UK, so that Milo can look at the server.

OK -- I mean it has been pretty obvious to me (and I expect others), perhaps there was some gentlemen's agreement not to post anything about it over the past few days, and cad that I must be, I violated that agreement.

In any event, this cad thanks you for the confirmation.

It is just that the only messages I had seen on the news thread were all sorts of rhapsodic about how things had been taken care of and were working fine -- that confused me a bit, guess I didn't understand the code.

OK -- that works -- I think this has been going on now for 4 days (ie starting on Wednesday night back in the UK) and, since the only notice I'd read was how things were working, (posted on Friday), I was a bit bewildered.

We're waiting for Monday to arrive in the UK, so that Milo can look at the server.

I noticed first irregularities in trickles on 9th & 13th June and the subsequent complete loss on the 24th.

The meaningless information being produced for Average Credit seem to be connected with the failure of Trickles.
It would seem that the figure shown for "average credit" on both Your Computer and on the Statistics is wildly overstated and obviously incorrect.
The figure shown in My Account data is completely different and seems it could be the correct figure
NEVERTHELESS, IT IS VERY STRANGE THAT DIFFERENT FIGURES ARE BEING SHOWN FOR WHAT SHOULD BE THE SAME CALCULATION???

I assume others are experiencing similar anomalies as am I.

(To be honest, I have found the so called Average Credit a waste of computing time, and should be ceased. the time can be devoted ot other far more important work, I am sure.)

Have you read this thread?

As for dumping RAC, perhaps you should suggest this on the SETI forums, because they are the ones for whom it was developed.
After which, be prepared to join the witness protection program. :)

Notice to everyone!

The name of this thread is: no trickles displayed
It is NOT meant for discussing credits!

I am sorry to overstep the mark, Les.
It was just that the two problems seem to be directld, and one might be the cause of the other.
Timing of both problems being identical.

I WILL SAY NO MORE.

Which models are having problems with no trickles being displayed?

I'm running, for example,

HADCM3 like task 8366356
HADAM3P like task 8961221

Every one I've looked at has had all its trickles displayed, present and correct.

The only thing missing is.... - but that's a topic for another thread.

I'm not trying to be a bossy boots about this, it's just that it makes it hard to tell just what people are reporting problems with.

Is anyone having a problem with trickles missing?
Or is it just no credits recently? (Due to the trickles-to-credits program not running, which gets re-started before long, and results in a rush of credit.)

e.g. I've just uploaded 3 trickles each for 8 models, and all of these trickles appear on the pages for their models.

Not the trickles, but the Credits.
http://de.allprojectstats.com/showuser.php?projekt=21&id=448050 U can see downside last credits are from 24.Jun.2009 (1 day delay). The trickles are shown correctly: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=9084650

There is something curious in the System.

In one minute I'm going to explain why in the News thread (top of Number Crunching).

For God’s sakes, is everyone obsessed with credits? It’s the work that’s important, not the meaningless cobblestones. If we don't stop global warming we are all in serious trouble.

I find credits to be an exceptionally low-calorie food substitute :)

But they are useful in comparing machine performance, and in determining looping models.

If noting that they haven't been posted for several days (the updates did show up yesterday) is defined as obsessed, I suppose an alternative view -- that folks who react and describe that simple posting and civil discussion as obsessive might be considered obsessed in their own way. Just sayin'

Well, obviously it's the crunching and completio of models for the research that's the important thing. Really it's the only thing we're doing this for. However, as the fun and competitive spirit of the credits and teams are a big motivator for some members, credits also serve the essential purpose.
