Guys is there anything that we could do from our ends to help you to solve the problem? |

[quote]i have four runs waiting to upload and am nearly finished with the next set of four runs. Still failed upload. The problem here is that I have no work to do. I have 14 uploads to complete but why can't I get more work to crunch. I am idle at this point. |

Dean Please start a new thread about this in the Windows section 0f this board, and post some of the messages from your Messages tab so that we can see what the problem is. Backups: Here |

Dean, please suspend the models you're still crunching before they complete. See the advice in the News thread (top of Number crunching and link in my signature). Cpdn news |

Our files waiting in the Transfers tab should be OK, even if we've tried to upload them but failed. The BOINC 14-day limit on keeping files that have failed to upload allows one extra upload attempt after the 14-day limit. The only server still down, uploader1atm, went down on Friday 5 June. So the 14-day deadline for files to this server will be reached on Friday 19 June. I'd be very surprised indeed if Milo hasn't got it working before then. But if the worst happens, members can just suspend BOINC network activity before Friday then reallow it later after first checking on the server status page that all servers are up and running. Hi, I got today the message, that the upload failed although it is not friday yet. "error reported by file upload server: no command". I have three models to upload yet left and stopped network communication, regards, Manfred |

Hi Manfred You will see from the most recent post in the News thread (top of Number Crunching & link in my signature) that this afternoon Milo tried unsuccessfully to redirect _3 zip files for uploader1.atm, which he cannot repair at least at the moment, to another working server. The redirect was not successful and seems to have caused some _3 zip files to be abandoned by BOINC. This is very unfortunate indeed and it isn't your fault. It is not because the files timed out after 14 days. Milo has now cancelled the unsuccessful redirect. I thought that uploader1.atm would show red on the server status page when he cancelled the redirect but it is green. I don't know why as it is not accepting uploads. You have done the correct thing to suspend BOINC network activity. If by chance you have a backup of the BOINC Data folder made before you completed the model whose file was lost, you could sometime later restore the backup and the model would generate its final zip files again. Dean, please suspend the models you're still crunching before they complete. See the advice in the News thread (top of Number crunching and link in my signature). Problem solved with the new server. I missed 12 days of crunching on one machine. I am back in business with a fresh download. |

Les, I agree this s/b in number crunching... but... The link in this (below) on the front page directs folks here. Recent updates Think maybe that should be redirected to news thread in number crunching. - da shu @ HeliOS, "Free software is a matter of liberty, not price. Yes, you are right! Milo probably intended the link to go to the independent forum. Quite honestly, I thought Les was right about where the thread should really be and the only thing that stopped me moving it was that some infrequent visitors have posted here and I thought they might never find their way back to their posts or might think we were annoyed. It's lucky I didn't moderate Milo's link away. Cpdn news |

I had intended to move this thread when things settled down, and will as soon as Milo fixes the problem. For now though, the correct place to look for news about the current problems is the News and Announcements thread in Number Crunching. And I'm locking this thread to stop more posts. |
