A recent discussion in another projects forums discussed alternative projects and the question came up about CPDN Model Dates displayed in the screensavers. ie; 1976 - 1978 or 1996-1998. Im currently running a HADAM3P with the latter dates. The discussion questioned why past dates are used if were predicting future climates? The theories, mine included, surmized that in order to produce viable future data that models may be used to compare historical actuals thereby validating the models abilities to predict future scenarios. Or are they dates just picked out of thin air to produce a theoretical timeline? Rick |

This is explained on pages linked from the front page of this project, under Climate Science. The different models being run are described on pages linked from Experiments. |
