There are currently only 3 types of models available, as per lots of messages posted a month or so back in News and Announcements, which is at the top of the Number Crunching part of this forum. You can see which types are available from time-to-time, in two places in the blue menu to the left: Applications, and Server Status. As to the \"settings\", this refers to the climateprediction.net preferences on your Account page. (Also linked from the menu to the left.) Just click those model types that you want, and \"unclick\" the ones not available. |

I am getting the following message ;;climateprediction.net Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the web site. Hi, Robby To change your model preferences all you need to do is click the “your account†in the blue box on the left hand side of this page and then click “ClimatePrediction.net preferences†next to ‘resources share and graphicsâ€. You should now be able to see the model types. Scroll down to the bottom and click “edit preferencesâ€. As I understand it only the Hadsm3, Hadsm3mh and Hadam3p models are presently available. Pick one or more by placing a check mark in the box. Remove any check marks in the Hadcm3 or Hadam3 boxes. Then click the “update preferences†button at the bottom. Happy crunching. |

I am getting the following message ;;climateprediction.net Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the web site. I found it !!!! does it hurt anything to just check them all? 2 of these systems are rarely checked and I just found them down after a dry spell... does the server \"look at the system specs and allot the work to the best systems ? just courious thanks again |

Yes, you can tick everything. Then the server will allocate model types at random. The only server check is the amount of memory to stop download of HADAM3, which is a hi-res model. It will download the hadam3p type, which needs SSE2, to all computers, but older computers without SSE2 will crash these soon after starting. Backups: Here |

A few weeks ago, we have been reduced to only the HadSM3 models being available. Yesterday, I thought the work was almost done, but today I just noticed there are an additional 500,000 tasks available for download. Just out of curiosity, how many HadSM3 tasks are left that the scientists want to process? I thought the current research was focusing on the new HadGM models to be released next year. |
