Done. Looking forward to getting involved with the project again, at least on the larger Mac... - Dean C. |

How would I go about checking the models? I just upgraded to the most current version, just in case that was part of the issue. |

It's upgrading BOINC from 6.10.* to 6.12.* on Macs that causes the issue. For Mac users: The advice in this sticky post applies. As for checking your models, really? You've never looked at your account page? OK, one of several ways to get there: Click on your name alongside one of your posts Near the bottom, alongside Computers, Click on View Click on Details At the bottom, you'll see how many models your computers has run/attempted to run Click on the number This gives the latest page for the list of models. Go back a page or two, and you'll start seeing lots of almost instant failures for Coupled Model Full Resolution Ocean Click on any model in the first column of the list to get the details for that model. Click on the + sign alongside Stderr to see the errors for failed models. Backups: Here |

Hi Dean, I'm still getting this on the Mac: Thu Sep 29 04:32:00 2011 | climateprediction.net | Not accepting requests from this host Does it take a while for it to reset? |

Dagorath @ Robert, I had read this independently, had un-installed, re-installed, repaired permissions, reinstalled and finally launched boinc manager. I checked back about an hour later and posted again. A few minutes ago, I saw Les Bayless' posting regarding how to access our account info and did so. I also found several other of Les' posts. So, I have now read (I hope.) all of the sticky links. To the both of you, Question: When clicking the various links, I found this information: Host 813251 has an incompatible CPU: (GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7], GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6]) Host 1122714 has an incompatible CPU: (GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7], GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6]) Since this represents my current machine (but with host # 909909) and the last thousand (several thousand?) of my tasks have been aborted after less than 30 seconds am I wasting your database space, your server time, my cpu cycles? I have followed all of the suggestions here (checked permissions, un-installed, re-installed, disconnected, reconnected, reset project). |

I'm not sure about those messages, but you've been through the process with the current machine, so I'll ask for it to be re-enabled and see what happens. PS I like the ID number of your current machine. :) Backups: Here |

Host 813251 has an incompatible CPU: (GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7] I have exactly the same CPU crunching a model now so I assure you it isn't incompatible in the sense that it isn't capable of running the CPDN science app. I wager you got that message after trying to merge hosts in your list of computers. Since it says GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6]) in the same sentence as the i7-2600 I think it's trying to tell you the host with the i7 cannot be merged with the host with the T7600 because they have different CPUs, i.e. they're incompatible. I see a T7600 in your list of computers so it makes sense. So a great CPU in a host with a palindrome ID... it's gotta work! |

Host 813251 has an incompatible CPU: (GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7] <grin/> I LOVE everything about my machine. I saw the 909909 number and actually was pleased because it was making it easy for me to remember but did not realized that it was palindromic. My wife would have recognized it instantly but... What is the significance of merging hosts? How are host numbers assigned? Since I have this one, I would hate to change. 909909 just rolls off of the finger tips. Thanks for allowing my machine to try processing tasks again. |

Apparently some were failing throughout the summer while others were going through. This was from the last failed task on Aug. 25. <core_client_version>6.10.21</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process exited with code 193 (0xc1, -63) </message> <stderr_txt> CPDN Monitor - Quit request from BOINC... CPDN Monitor - Quit request from BOINC... Signal 3 received, exiting... Called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> What should I do now? BTW, I signed up for SETI (and CP) as a second-thought. If this is going to be a long drawn out deal, I'll probably just cut my losses. |

Everyone up to this point who has said that they made the changes, has had their name and computer ID passed on for re-activation. Which won't take long. Backups: Here |

An alternative account manager? Sorry, I'm not sure what that means. I'm using the BOINC manager. |

William If you're using BOINC's Manager, then clicking on the project name (climateprediction.net), in the Project tab, will activate all buttons associated with this project. If it doesn't, and you didn't attach to the project via, e.g., BAM, then your installation of BOINC has become corrupted, and will need to be uninstalled and then re-installed. Backups: Here |

William, it will help the moderators if you can go into your account (in the blue menu on the left of this page) and in the climateprediction preferences section edit the item allowing your computer details to be displayed. This will allow us to see what sort of computer it is and what models it has run, encountering what sort of problems. If you click on my name or Les's you'll be able to see these details about our computers and models. I don't think any of this needs to be treated as confidential. We need to see this sort of thing for you so we have a chance of offering advice. Should climateprediction.net show your computers on its web site? Please say Yes. Cpdn news |

I've asked for Jim Nelson's daily quota to be reactivated. This may not be possible until Monday morning UK time. Cpdn news |

DKD, you also please need to unhide your computer(s) as I described to William two posts above this. We will then be able to see what's working and what isn't. Cpdn news |

Don Dudan You mention BAM several times, so you'll have a different Manager. And it looks like the buttons have different labels, so I don't know what to advise about the wording. This being the case, you'll need to Disconnect/Remove/????? via BAM, and then to re-attach/??????, also via BAM. edit Try the Remove button. :) Backups: Here |
