ALL climate models are 32 bit, and need 32 bit "stuff" to work. On my Q6600 machines, all I got was a black rectangle with the model's name across the top. This disappeared again in 1-1.5 seconds. I cured the problem by loading the graphics progs from the CD that was supplied with the video boards, which I hadn't done before, because everything had worked OK since I built them, using the Windows drivers. I was using the built-in Win7 driver, which seems to be fine except for this. The Windows provided drivers lack the OpenGL bit. Not only because OpenGL is open source (it's in the name) but also because it's a direct competitor to Microsoft's DirectX. The OpenGL part of the drivers is only installed when you install the GPU's manufacturer's drivers. Jord. |

They look great on my systems. Where they have the countdown to the next save point it would also be good to count down to the next trickle. Keep on crunching Pizza@Home |

Nvidia driver fixed the graphics. Thanks for the tip. |

The 6.11 graphics work OK from my BOINC Manager, but are skipped in the screen saver. The 6.10 graphics worked fine in both contexts. Mac OS 10.6.4 BOINC Manager 6.10.56 FAMOUS 6.11 The graphics are the least of the problems with this model, but having stumbled upon this thread, I thought I'd mention it. |
