Milo, you said: 'Also, the vanished results should be old ones which have already finished.'

But if MacDitch is right about the task and WU numbers for his currently crunching model, it must mean that in at least this case the task page for an uncompleted model has disappeared.

Please see my post above this about an apparent block of missing task (not WU) pages.

Indeed they should be…
I will know more when a backup has been successfully restored.

I actually have two 'active' tasks that have gone missing. The real one is (re-post to confirm numbers!)

Task ID: 7934758
Work Unit ID: 6212331
Computer: 865981
I think it was ~60% complete at the time of the last upload, a week ago.

And the second model is:
Task ID: 7934793
Work Unit ID: 6212336
Computer: 865981

The second model is actually complete (Error@97%)and has uploaded from my computer months ago but showed up in the pending section (until the last few days) despite this.

I don't know if this helps or hinders really...

Sorry! But I am relieved to see that I am not the only one who lost so much points ...

Thanks for working on it.
Good luck!

If you look at how long people have been on the project, and compare this with the amount they've lost, it can be seen that the longer, the more lost, as it's all from old results.

I agree. I've lost 88,544 acc. to BOINCstats and this is far more than I have crunched so far in 2010. So this should be from 2009 or even earlier.

Regards

Me too!
I'm set back 7.038.550 credits.

Thanks Milo. At least this will go down in history as the first time ever for any of my Boinc Manager's Statistics graphs to actually go down.
At least Boinc.Mundayweb's graphics are lying nicely...for now.

A restore is still running - hopefully it will have finished by tomorrow morning and I'll be able to get to work trying to fix the mess.

Apologies again for the huge delays trying to get this data restored.

I check progress usually once a day. Since yesterday I seem to have lost about 1.5 million credits. Mind you, I've actually gone up in the participants table from 117 to 110! ID is 7304

BOINCstats currently reports a project total RAC of -41,519,397 - so we're somehow "un-crunching" :

CPDN project totals

I'm not sure if our computers are injecting electricity into the wall plugs though - so it might not be the solution for all energy problems ;-)

Here's the whole project:

It'll probably be a nice steep valley soon instead of just a cliff ;)

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Maybe it's just too early, but none of my trickles from yesterday or this morning are yet showing here (I've since suspended network activity)

Also, I happened to notice that one of my team-mates, dtkirk, who hasn't been crunching for a while, seems to have lost some 400,000 credits this week! See http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_user_graph.php?pr=bo&id=579502

I'm not doing climateprediction at the moment.

However, the graph from allprojectstats.com shows a negative bar for 'credits per day' on the 1st Sept.

You can see the graph here:

http://allprojectstats.com/perday.php?mode=2&projekt=0&id=1773920

I lost 25% of my total credits between 31 Aug - 1 Sep.

Unfortunately so. I've been having very great difficulty with the backups, I'm afraid. I've managed to restore some data, but there's still quite a bit more to do.

Even a simple query, e.g. to count the number of entries in a table, takes a little over 5 minutes and a restore attempt or dump several hours.

I've also lost more than 60.000 Points!!!

Will it help you, if we stop all activity so you must not wait 5 minutes for a query result?

Or is there a chance to get the lost points back?

Best regards from Austria/Europa
