Good afternoon, Preemptive apologies if this is not the correct forum for my question. I looked at the short descriptions for the climateprediction.net and BOINC forums and decided this could be the place to ask my question after not finding an answer in the FAQ. Briefly, I have two accounts at climateprediction.net. I would like to combine them into one if possible or at least erase the newer one that I accidentally created when installing BOINC to a different computer. Is this possible? Where is the FAQ or thread that I missed? Many thanks, Chris |

No, it's not possible, because it's not possible to prove to the server software that you are the same person. Just pick the account with the most work/credits, and ignore the other one. You won't have found a thread about this, because the last person to ask about it did so over a year ago. :) Backups: Here |

I should have mentioned in my first post that my goal is to manage all my BOINC projects under one account manager. I have one email address registered for all projects except CPDN, where I've registered two. The issue is that the CPDN account that I've been using for years uses a different email address than the one I have for all the others. I hastily created my second CPDN account using the email address common to the other projects. If not for this last move, I gather that I could have simply changed the registered email address on my long-standing CPDN account in order to use the account manager. Now, however, I cannot because an account (i.e., my second account) already exists with that email address. I believe the question I want to ask now is whether I can delete that second account in order to register the correct email address on my old account? Thanks again for helping me beat this dead horse. Chris |

CPDN accounts cannot be deleted once work has been assigned to them. That's for the short term. Now that work is sometimes archived, the account might be considered vacant when all it's work is archived and could be deleted, as "old" computers can now be deleted in that circumstance. That's conjecture, though, as I haven't encountered the issue before. (I know, not much help.)
