I have 2 clients running CP work units that have end times that are pushing 2000 + hours. (One client has completed 1802hrs with 1749hrs remaining and the 2nd client has completed 5485hrs with 2145hrs remaining). I don't care so much about this time, but the problem is I am not going to be available from the 1st week of April until probably late Sept, so I must shut these 2 computers down. Can I suspend these 2 clients until Sept and then resume them without losing the credit gained from the work they have already done?

Barry,

Credits are awarded on CPDN for trickles submitted. Once awarded they are not taken away (except when the database gets confused).

Which models do you mean? The figure of 5485 hours seems very high indeed.

What type of models are you running. Are they HadSM3 or HadSM3-MH models. If your models are either of these types then you may be trying to finish a slow processing ice world. Check the temp graphic. If it is one of the types mentioned above and the graphic is uniformly blue then it is an ice world.

If that is the case then there is really nothing you can do except abort. Finishing would take nearly forever and the results would be of little value because many of the calculations are not being done. See the thread on ice worlds for more information.

System 1 has done 1820 hrs and has 1778 to completion. It is running Hadsm3istd_crit_1920_160_060119801_1

System 2 has done 5557 hrs and has 2079 hrs to completion. It is running Hadsm3istd_1871_1920_160_05996746_3

So it looks like I should abort both of these and keep or lose the credits?

The 'faq' for iceworlds is here in Number crunching.

Credits already 'awarded' are NOT lost!!!!!!!
You just won't get any more for those models, if you don't return any more trickles for them!

I checked the Graphics for each model and neither is anywhere near blue. They seem to be producing a regular global warming effect.
Thanks for the note on credits. I'll check out the faq as well.
