After leaving with several problems with a frozen cursor in running CPDN, I have now returned on my MacBookPro to find I had 2 HADAM3P-EU tasks marked NO RESUBMISSION, but continued crunching them until one developed a CALCULATION ERROR, and i was informed that it was now NOT NEEDED. So I decided to ABORT the other. However, I since find that the trickles have been credited and the data seems to be updated on both these tasks, so it seems the work was not wasted and I should probably have been able to complete the 2nd task. There was no other cruncher with a task in either of the 2 work units concerned. I have now been sent 2 HadCM3N tasks on the Mac OSX 10.5.8, and also the same on Parallels Virtual Windows XP. As the CPUs seem to have a problem running concurrently, I have allowed each preference to run 12 hours alternately every day and they seem to be quite happy doing that. It will be interesting to compare the progress of each over the next 50 days (or maybe 100 days). Keith Scott |

The problem with both NO RESUBMISSION, and NOT NEEDED for models that get completed, were explained in the News and Announcements thread. Andy is still working on the problem. Backups: Here |

I've got the sme message to-day (08/05/2011 15:44:48 climateprediction.net Message from server: Completed result hadam3p_eu_w9jm_1994_1_007213110_1 refused: this result wasn't sent (not needed) after completion and final upload of a 300-hour task that seems to have disappeared from my tasks list. I would like to know if all the wotk done is lost. If so, I'll abort all other tasks running and quit the project. |

I would like to know if all the wotk done is lost. If so, I'll abort all other tasks running and quit the project. It is a good idea to subscribe to the news thread on this message board. The most recent post, here, explains the situation - and confirms that the science data is indeed safe. |
