I have some strange performance issues.
Before BOINC my 5 pc rank was:
1: AMD Athlon 3200+ Windows XP
2: Intel P4 3.0 Windows XP
3: Intel P4 2.4 Windows 2000
4: AMD Athlon 1800+ Windows XP
5: Intel P4 1.8 Windows 2003 Server

Now I have the following
1: Intel P4 2.4 Windows 2000
2: Intel P4 3.0 Windows XP
3: AMD Athlon 3200+ Windows XP
4: Intel P4 1.8 Windows 2003 Server
5: AMD Athlon 1800+ Windows XP

While my nr one computer, is the one I use the most
This is very strange to me

Marc

It has been posted in other threads that the intel chips run the BOINC version of CPDN a bit faster than the classic version. It has also been stated that the AMD chips run it a bit slower. If you had hyperthreading enabled it would most likely make it even more noticable that the intels are doing better. Why the 2.4 is ahead of the 3.0 I don't know.

Its not about the type of CPU I think. I have also noticed that if the computer (I have only one) is in use, it takes to it 7 hrs (external clock) to complete a trickle. When the computer is not in use, the time raises to 9-10 hrs. But when I check "Run always" instead of "Run based on preferences" everything falls into place.
