Hi there, sorry if this has been posted before (seach still sucks) but a Czech fellow asked me ho to pause particular project or WU under BOINC - using BOINC GUI/CLI. Let's assume he has CPDN and SETI and wants to pause selected WUs or projects... is there any how to? |

Nope, you can only pause or 'suspend' everything running under BOINC all at the same time... <a href="http://www.nmvs.dsl.pipex.com/"><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=6&team=off&trans=off"></a> |

Particularly if everything I've read about pre-emption not taking account of completion deadlines is to be believed. The other alternative is the one that I've taken ... Only run CPDN ;) <a href="http://www.teampicard.net"><img src="http://www.teampicard.net/templates/fisubice/images/phpbb2_logo.jpg"></a><a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_display.php?teamid=3">Join us here</a> |

Hopefully, this will be fixed. <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=13"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://13.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |

I have had Prediction running while SETI is paused, I don't know how thought, it just happened when I downloaded prediction. Even after I have detached Prediction SETI is still paused and it's now the only project. I've tried suspending and unsuspending it, that didn't work. Anyone know how I can resume a project? |

It is true... You have something else going on. I'm assuming you've tried resetting S@H? If that didn't work, try detaching and re-attaching. |

Remember that when you are attached to more than one BOINC project, you still only have one running at a time. The other will be shown as suspended. The proportion of time to be spent on each is determined by the resource share, and after attaching to a new project BOINC will initially appear give it a higher proportion than that set. To be sure that BOINC is really only running one project you need to be patient and also check on the progress made on each WU, not just whether it always seems to be running a particular project when you take a look. |
