Is it my computer, Boinc or the work unit the problem?

It's your computer.
Please read the sticky at the top of the Macintosh section labelled Tasks crash after upgrading to BOINC 6.12.26

I obtained the following error:
forrtl: severe (38): error during write, unit 8, file
C:\PgrogramData\BOINC\projects\climateprediction.net\hadcm3n
_u1wk_1980_40_007742437\tmp\pipe_dummy followed by 7 lines, the first of which is:
hadcm3n_um_6.07_w 007D9D2A Unknown Unknown Unknown
then:
kernel32.dll 76C1339A Unknown Unknown Unknown
ntdll.dll 77E09EF2 Unknown Unknown Unknown
ntdll.dll 77E09ECS Unknown Unknown Unknown

I can clear this error by suspending the work unit but it reoccurs on starting
again. Should I just about the wu? My computer is running well on all other aplications.
Thanks,
Ernie

FORTRAN errors are an old, well known problem. But the reason for them isn't know. They occur on some computers occasionally, and then disappear again. There are many posts on these boards about it.

If you Abort, it may fix the problem. Or maybe not.
And just ignoring them may also work.

Perhaps a restart of BOINC.
Or a re-boot of the computer.
