I just noticed that under status on the "projects" screen, there is a message that reads "Won't get new tasks"

4 high priority tasks are running right now, and I've suspended another that isn't high priority because, even with just the 4 running, I see many messages like this: "Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high"

This is happening every 4 to 5 minutes, and will occur even when nothing else is running on the computer. The preference is set to processor use: 100%, use 25GB. My computer has 4 Intel Core processors, and plenty of memory available.

First, why the message, and then, why all the frequent suspending of computation? Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.

The Wont get new tasks message is caused by you having clicked the no new tasks button in Projects tab in the Boinc manager.

The Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high" can be fixed by going to Computing Preferences on your Account page and looking for:

Suspend work if CPU usage is above
0 means no restriction
Enforced by version 6.10.30+

Setting this to zero will most likely stop the Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high" messages.

P.S. In future please post this kind of question in the Number Crunching section.

Thanks, I don't remember selecting "no new tasks" but I must have.

I'll look for "number crunching" next time.
