According to the event log machine has just downloaded a task but it doesn't appear in the task list. It also doesn't show up in the tasks when I click, "View Computer" on this site.

Not a great problem as I have plenty of work @ the moment. Just curious.

The Tasks tab has a button with two states:
Show all tasks
Show active tasks

Sorry Les, I should have been clearer,
the issue occurs in view all tasks mode, if I switch modes the number of tasks shown drops down to the two currently running. The downloaded files are in my BOINC projects directory, just not showing up under BOINC manager or under my computer on this web site.

The SAF units were a strange lot that were auto-rengenerated from some issued a couple of years back. They've now been removed, and it's possible that you only got a partial download of the files.

I guess that means I should just delete the files that are in my data directory. Memory suggests they won't get deleted automatically?

The code for deleting files after use won't get run if the model doesn't get run, and if BOINC doesn't know about it, then it won't run it.
So, yes, delete manually, as for a crashed model.

Have deleted files manually, when restarting BOINC after upgrading from beta to 7.0.25 I noticed a message about these files being missing. to get rid of this do I now have to edit the clientstate.xml file or is it somewhere else I have to look?

Edit: Ignore this - another restart and the message has gone.

Interesting! BOINC has just redownloaded the files. Perhaps I do need to edit clientstate.xml or something?

Roger that. ... and carefully, after shutting down boinc and making a copy of client_state.xml, just in case. Search for the appropriate task name.

Empathy, cuz I've been caught in huge download after "cleanup" of obsolete beta and main files.
