I have 2 host Id's assigned for one machine which recently had a CPU upgrade. It seems I cannot merge them. Old host Id is here New host Id is here When I try and merge then I get the error message "No hosts are eligible for merging with this one." Differences I can see between them are: 1. CPU is different (was i7-920, now is i7-970) 2. BOINC version (was 7.0.27, now is 7.0.28) 3. The GPU driver version (was 285.62, now is 301.42) I tried it before doing the driver and BOINC upgrades but got the same error message. BOINC blog |

Host merging is only possible if the CPU type is the same. If you're doing a hardware upgrade the only way you can ensure it uses the same host number is to copy your BOINC data directory to the new system before installing BOINC. Host merging is only possible if the CPU type is the same. If you're doing a hardware upgrade the only way you can ensure it uses the same host number is to copy your BOINC data directory to the new system before installing BOINC. The BOINC data directory was already on the machine, it didn't move. CPDN seems to be the only project that did it, other projects did not assign a new Host Id. BOINC blog |
