For the past 18 hours I have been unable to upload and have been getting error messages that I have never seen before. Is this problem at my end or at the severs? Is anyone else seeing this problem? This is the same that recently crashed 2 Hadcm3 model. Are these WU�s salvageable, or should I just reset the project and wait for new work to become available?

Hi Jim, I have been getting this error for the past couple of days. the first zip I got it on went through eventually, looking @ the transfers tab it seems that the zips are going through to 100% before they fail with the end fo file error. Les suggested in this thread, http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=7487 that it was a problem with an overworked server but I think it is a bit more than that now.

I get those EOF-messages on one of my models also since yesterday evening.
Happened two or three times over night that the upload of the trickle reached 100% and then the message appeared.
Unfortunately the trickle prevents my model of being finished, it already is completed and the result file was already uploaded...
Hope this gets solved soon.

My zip-file has been stuck for about a week I think. It still isn't moving...

I have 5 stuck in the queue which means some of those with faster machines probably have a dozen or more.

As far as I can see, this is happening because the server is having difficulty writing to the storage partition. The partition appears to be responding very slowly.

I am talking to our IT chaps about what can be done to overcome this.

Thanks Jonathan, will suspend network activity till there is more news on this to avoid hammering it further.

Are we sure this is a server problem? After all it is a Monday during term time ie not a weekend!

The project people are there where it happens, and they can see the server logs. If they say that's what's happening, then crunchers just have to accept what they say.

Thank God. The 11 backed up zip files in my transfer tab have finally cleared. I was beginning to wonder (despite the fact that the staff said it was a server problem) if the WU�s were defective and would never upload. Good work guys.

The first Hadcm3 model I ever ran (about 6 years ago) could not upload trickles and I was never able to solve that problem. I was afraid that I might have the same kind of problem here. Now if the project would just get some more work we would be all set.

Does anyone when the new Hadam3p_ANZ (Australia, New Zealand) models might move over from the beta site to here.

Thanks for the alert on this: it has been passed back to the project team. It's not clear whether these failed downloads are valid tasks for which the model-specific download files are missing/inaccessible or old tasks that shouldn't have re-appeared and for which the download files are known to have been deleted to save space. The project staff should know the answer to that even if it is still something of a mystery why old tasks keep returning from oblivion.
