Message 45216 - Posted: 3 Nov 2012, 20:42:16 UTC - in response to Message 45215.

That message means that you've tried to sign up to our other, php, board.
That board is constantly under attack from spammers, and we have a lot of measures in place to prevent this.

The internet site from which you posted is apparently listed by some of our protection software as a site from which a lot of spam is coming, and has been blocked.

You'll have to find another, 'clean', ISP if you do want to sign up on the other board, or else just post on this board. Preferably in a section which is more appropriate than this Science section.

If you want to know why your computer isn't getting any work from this project, it's because there hasn't been any available for weeks now.
There are threads about this, as well as threads about download and upload problems, in the Number crunching section of this board.

A good place to look for official news posts, is in the News and Announcements thread at the top of the Number crunching section.
That thread can be subscribed to, giving you an email notice when ever a new post is made there.

The Server Status page, accessible from a link in the blue menu to the left of here, 5 from the bottom, shows the amount of work available for each sub-project.

Why am I no longer getting work? Have I missed a message saying the project is over?

Message 49828 - Posted: 22 Aug 2014, 0:32:12 UTC - in response to Message 49827.

The project is NOT over.
If you aren't getting work, then your computer settings, either on the web site, or locally in your BOINC manager settings, is incorrect.

We can't see either of these, so you'll have to look for yourself, or provide a lot more info.

Start by looking at the Server Status page in the blue menu to the left of here, 5 from the bottom.
Then check to see if what model types are currently available are allowed in your settings.

If you click on the, "Your account" page from the left hand menu, then go to computers on the account and click on your computer it shows it as not having contacted the project since 2nd August. Check that under activity you have network activity set to always and from the projects tab check that CPDN isn't set to, "no new tasks." If it is, "Allow new tasks" will be one of the buttons on the left.

I'm set to get new work, but communication keeps getting deferred for one hour. In the meantime, Einstein and Seti continue working just fine.

Message 51763 - Posted: 5 Apr 2015, 1:59:24 UTC - in response to Message 51762.

The "one hour" part, is a restriction to prevent unmonitored, out of control computers, from getting and then immediately crashing one data set after another. Every time that your BOINC contacts the server, the delay gets reset to one hour. (And a few seconds or minutes, I think.)
So if you have been clicking the Update button, the timer will have been getting reset each time, back to one hour.

As for why you didn't get work in the first place, there are also restrictions on which models are sent to each type of OS. This is recent, and perhaps you don't have ALL of the different model types selected in your Account prefs.
You can check on this on the Project Status page, 5th item from the bottom in the blue menu to the left.

Finally, this thread should be in the Number crunching section, not in the Science section.
I'll move it in 24 hours, so look for it there.

The only work for Linux at the moment (as of today 5th April) is

hadam3prm3pm2t_eu (hadam3p global model with hadrm3p regional model with MOSES II land scheme and TRIFFID available) (currently no graphics) (Linux only)
Tasks ready to send 13,462

If you have your setting set to receive all model types you should pick some of these ones up.
