Model crashed: INITTIME: Atmosphere basis time mismatch tmp/xaakm.pipe_dummy 2048 This http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1228761 Task has failed after 20 seconds with an error I haven't seen before. The other task of three that has failed in the work unit seems to be taking forever to load so I can't see if it has the same error or not but there is no credit assigned to it so I assume it failed pretty quickly. Any thoughts? EDIT: I notice that the computer that crashed a task from the same work unit also runs linux. don't know the relevance of this yet. |

Hi Dave Some of these regional models do produce this error. It's the fault of the model, not your computer so nothing to worry about and at least the affected models don't spend long crunching. I can't remember whether a whole batch of models is affected or a few models here and there but I've seen this before on my own computer. There's something wrong with how the model/task pages for EU, PNW and SAF load. Iain Inglis thinks the problem may be some firewall in Oxford; but he says the CPDN programmers in Oxford can't reproduce the problem on their computers. (I hope I'm quoting him accurately.) Sometimes the model/task page does eventually load after quarter of an hour if you have the patience to wait. I try just to glean what info I can from the WU pages though it's a nuisance not to be able to see the stderr info. Fortunately the model pages open up properly for the new ANZ models. If you don't mind I'm going to edit the thread title to add INITTIME error so the error is more visible and searchable. Cpdn news |

No problem with re-naming the thread. If I had thought a bit more, I might have named it so it was more easily found myself. Strange thing about the model loading is that the model that crashed on my own box loaded normally. It was only whe I looked @ the other one to try and compare that I had a problem. |
