Hi,

This is the my first completed task so I am still feeling my way here but I notice while the Task Outcome is Success , the Validate state has not moved from state Initial.

I have tried searching the forum and looked through the FAQ but the 'normal' process does not seem to be explained for this attribute.

Normally completed tasks only stay in the user list for a short while so I waited to see if would update but as it didn't I decided to ask the question before this task disappears.

So, for instance, does the Validate state change from 'Initial' to something like 'Final' after verification of the model or... ?

This is not a problem for me, I am just interested to understand the process a little better :)

Below is my completed task,

Regards,

CPDN does not validate tasks within a work unit using the BOINC mechanisms. The project does, of course, have its own quality control process in which results are tested for validity.

Another difference between CPDN and other projects is that climate models' web pages remain in our accounts for a long time. For example, if you click on my name and look at my models you'll see work for 18 months since this computer was new. Every so often, maybe every three years, the programmers purge the old models in our accounts and save them on a storage server. This is not the normal BOINC mechanism.

Another difference is that we receive our credits immediately and don't have to wait for another computer to complete the model. Sometimes one completed model from a workunit is all the researchers need.
