I realize there is much about this project and BOINC for that matter that I don't understand, but this has me truly baffled. I was looking at my computer errors and came across this. http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=8400848 The one where it says "Timed out - no response" (in red), I just don't see how this person could be granted 1244 points for doing nothing. Is it a glitch in the method it was reported? Will it sort it's self out at a latter date? Sorry if this has been gone over before somewhere else, I ran a search and didn't find anything. |

Credits are granted by trickles. If you look here, you'll see several trickles from that task. Sometimes the CPU time is not recorded on the server for some reason. |

To add a bit, "Timed out - no response" means that after the work done to warrant the credit, the person stopped processing that model, and eventually the "deadline" to complete it was reached. Even though, as everyone knows, that's just a BOINC thing, and there is no deadline for receiving data in this project. 1244 credits divided by 4 (trickles) = 311 credits. Which is the amount per trickle for that model type. |

Okay, I think I know what confused me, I thought that the model hadn't run at all (started) because it says no response. So, I guess I understand, thanks. |
