This wu arrived overnight sometime. It has run 16:14:29 at the moment and is still running. I found a run time error report this evening. I tried to cut and paste but it won't let me, so I'll type it, format will be a little different.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

(X) Runtime Error!

Program: ...\climateprediction.net\hadcm3n_6.07_windows_intelx86.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

[OK]

As said, the job appears to be proceeding. It is currently showing 2.874% done, 16:23:31 elapsed and 551:58:18 remaining. However, when I pressed the OK button, it bombed out. I can see that nobody has got through it yet.

Adrian, it's one of things that happens from time to time to all of us. Lots of reports of this over many years. Best ignored & carry one.

hi,
if your systems a bit unstable due to hardware issues or overclocking that makes them pop up all over the place on this particular project
or as hagar says just once in a while its your turn to get one

best regards
Ian

No hardware issues, no overclocking, no changes for over a year. It has failed on all machines that have tried it.

That's the "malloc" problem that was talked about in this thread in Number Crunching.

I made a post about it here in that thread, but there's been so many problems recently that I can't remember the outcome of that particular problem.
