Hi

I recently installed BOINC and attached to cp. I\'m using ZoneAlarm and I gave boinc_gui.exe permission to access the internet. It started to download some files and stopped with some errors. So I closed BOINC and deleted all files in BOINC/projects/climateprediction.net (they were only about 4kbytes).

Now I\'m always getting messages like this:

It\'s no problem to wait the 24 hours, but what can I do to make sure the errors won\'t appear again when downloading the next parts?

(I\'m using a router via DHCP.)

You are shown as having eight identical machines attached. Is this right? If not, that will be at the heart of your problem.

Well I merged all machines and now it's at least starting to download :-)

Hm it finally downloaded a few components. One archive in the projects/climateprediction.net folder was more than 2 MByte and WinRar said it was okay when I tested it (no CRC errors).

But some other archives and the .exe file only were about 3KByte and at least the archives were corrupted as well (WinRar said the end of the files was missing).

In the work tab of the BOINC gui a file was still "downloading", but it didn't appear in the download tab.

Just to test this, can I get the files manually (e.g. via FTP or something).

There is always the daily quota exceeded, so what could i possibly do?

Try shutting down BOINC, deleting everything in your climateprediction.net folder and then restart BOINC. This has been known to get round the "couldn't delete file" errors.

There's a limit of 4 workunits that can be sent to you in a 24 hour period, so you won't be allowed to try another download until that window opens up for you again.
