On looking at your two computers, my first guess was proved wrong as while a number of tasks have failed some have not. Are you pressing the update button on BOINC manager? If so you may be trying to update more quickly than allowed. Also the only tasks available at the moment are re-issues that have failed on other computers or auto-regens that are produced when a some tasks complete. There are many thousands of computers all looking for work For example, I have got my first task in over three weeks yesterday. With regards to the failed tasks, it is worth making sure that your BOINC data folder is excluded from any virus scans as if a lock is put on a file when BOINC wants to write to it this can cause a model failure. (This is only conjecture as I haven't looked at the failed tasks to check what the errors were.)

I think that PC was reported as an unstable one to the IT staff in this thread and thus was prevented from downloading new tasks. Looking at the task list, two have completed successfully since March while dozens have failed.

I'm not sure as to the cause. There are LOTS of suspend requests in the stderr listing on the failed task webpages. I'm guessing that "suspend task while computer is in use" is set to yes, or "suspend when xx% CPU is being used" is set to some value. I'm not sure the number of task suspensions is the cause of the failures, but those settings can cause problems.

Yes, if the task gets suspended at the wrong moment it can kill the model. I prefer to change the settings so that the model keeps running regardless of computer activity.

Thanks,I had a look at"suspend task while computer is in use" but it was a wrong guess .I also don't make intempestive updates .
If I look the results of SETI,there is only one error dating 05/2012,but Rosetta has a lot of computer errors also, almost 50% of the results as far as I can see
I still had two climateprediction tasks,I tried to make them run and they both worked properly, but still no way to update.I then restarted the project,no change. That is
It seems climateprediction actually banned the computer for too many errors in results,if there was a mail sent I didn't noticed it.I don't know the reasons of the errors,is it possible to know?
Well,if I can't find a solution I will carry on with SETI only, which seems to work properly

Yes, that computer has been banned from getting more work, and yes, you should have received an email about it.

Also, your other recent computers are crashing lots of work units, so you should look into those as well.

The error listed for a lot of the failures is Fonction incorrecte.
Looking up Function incorrect seems to indicate a Microsoft error. Some of the results are about cd/dvd and not having upgraded XP to sp3, which you seem to have done. Perhaps some part of the OS has become corrupted, but I can't see that happening to several computers, especially when one is Windows 7.

Something is wrong though, so you'll need to find out what. Otherwise, you're just wasting electricity and data sets.
