Got one eu 13.zip uploaded some hours ago and task reported :-)

... likewise, my stalled EU Zip13 uploads have now cleared and reported.

Looks like things are finally returning to normal. The two zip files that have been stuck for several days now could finally be uploaded.

Message 50074 - Posted: 8 Sep 2014, 15:39:41 UTC - in response to Message 49897.

Problems as usual (EU-task):

Zips 1..12 don't transfer at all.
Zip 13 transfers to 100% and then do not finish.

Please tell someone here in this thread when things are working normal again. Up till then I have to seperate CPND from the rest of BOINCData-folder to ensure that unnecessary uploads won't occur.

Ok, as I read that things are currently running fine, tried it myself and reintegrated CPDN in my BOINC-Data-folder. -> Upload of all 13 zips worked well.

I've had a .zip upload failure (transient http error) on hadam3p_anz WUs since around 1600 GMT yesterday. Just a heads up. A .zip from a hadcm3n unit uploaded normally.

uploader.oerc is down. Is that why I have 16 files ready for transfer/uploading and yet are backed off?

Doubtful. All of my pending WAH ANZ uploads will be sent to cpdn-upload4.oerc.ox.ac.uk (which isn't listed on the server status page, but nslookup tells me it's an alias for
rwah0.rdsi.tpac.org.au). The system does respond to ping and traceroute (26 hops with an average elapsed time of 390ms) and a browser test of the upload URL eventually gives the expected response:
<data_server_reply>
<status>1</status>
<message>no command</message>
</data_server_reply>

This suggests the system is working but something is causing upload attempts to time out before anything has been sent.

yup - backlog of uploads -- server whatever--
happens every week or two.

Patience - no worries -- report problem, in a day or a week it will be fixed.

The backed up zip files for the hadam3p_anz have cleared so the boys down under must have kick started the server.

A couple of mine have cleared too but one of them is now appearing twice in the Latest Trickles list here: http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=16960118

Not a problem to me but may be of interest.

Hi Chaps,

The upload server for ANZ models had to be rebooted yesterday - and with a 12 hour lag between IT suppport staff, it took a while to resolve the issue.

It should now be uploading correctly.

------------------
DUPLICATE TRICKLES
------------------

Some people have received duplicate trickles for hadcm3s WUs.
This was because we corrected a backlog of trickles for these models on Monday. Unfortunately the first run of the script took longer than usual, and these trickles were picked up by a second automated run of the trickle script, which processed them again.

We will be correcting this in due course, but it should not create any actual problems for our crunchers.

Jonathan

Assuming a typo there Martin unless NZ is now more than 24 hours ahead of UK?

Jonathan was informed, yesterday (US West coast time, BST-8), of the new ANZ server problem.

Just as Oxford staff is half a world behind folks 'down under,' I'm a third of the world behind Oxford -- plenty of built-in delay getting all CPDN ducklings lined-up.

Yup, underway, guess the blokes in Oz wanted to get down to the pub for a beer & who can blame them on a Friday.

And Yes Dave, although we do lead the world, it's not by that much ;-) Twas a typo, should have been 18th.

I hate to be pedantic Martin, but as far as time goes Kiribati's Line Islands lead the world at UTC +14:00 :)

Kiribati has 3 island groups in different timezones. More that 90% of the population lives on the Gilbert Islands which has always been UTC +12:00. When Kiribati gained its independence from the UK in 1979 the USA relinquished their claims on the Phoenix Islands and Line Islands, with the formal transfer happening 4 years later. Phoenix Islands (UTC -11:00) and Line Islands (UTC -10:00) were a day behind until the International Date Line was redrawn on 1st January 1995 to remove the anomaly.

Oh nice:-) I've been running climate models for Kiribati for many years. The islands are endangered by rising sea levels and they have the most beautiful flag :-)
