Yes, I think that's it. Been a long time since I needed it.

Message 54472 - Posted: 10 Jul 2016, 10:32:55 UTC - in response to Message 54457.

Adding the file to the Boinc folder and clicking read confing file didn’t work. I now have 2 zip files (8 and 11) stuck in the transfer tab. Beginning to think this is a lost cause. I am going to deselect the Mex Regional tasks until they sort their software conflicts out.

Right now I've got a 3 uploads "stuck"
2 sas50 wu-s going to upload2.cpdn.org
1 mex25 wu going to upload6.cpdn.org
Don't know how these servers are or aren't connected to the main site, suspect aren't.
Expect problem (if at server end) will be fixed now that weekend over.

I understand it is an outdated configuration on the server in Mexico for the mex25 tasks. That means probably another 5 or 6 hours till they might get a chance to look at it.

5-6 hours would be great. 5-6 days might be OK, depending.
I've got a half-dozen computers and a small upload pipe, but plenty room for queued uploads for a week or two at least.

right now, the sas50 uploads are a bigger problem for me, because when they retry, they start over from scratch and use bandwidth, and my hosts keep generating more, so they block the working eu25 etc uploads more,
While the mex25 uploads start from where they left off and just time out.

Whatever. expect solution soonish.

And I now have 3 PNW zips which go straight to project backoff. No other message in the log.

Edit: Andy after getting clarification from Les about the exact nature of the problem is on the case.

I doubt that my answer to the "problem" applies generally.
PNWs are most likely due to a problem at where ever the Oregon people store their data.

The sas50 uploads go to Upload 2, which Andy has confirmed is under heavy load.
But they have their eye on it.

I just wait patiently for the sas50 to sort it out themselves.
And I only let one computer get to the net at a time. A bit fiddly, but I'm retired, and I'm not fanatical about how long they sit there, e.g. overnight while I'm sleeping. Which I should be doing right now. :)

Sorry about post of PNW zips. In a still half asleep haze I didn't notice they aren't from the main site.

One of the servers was down a few hours ago, and I think that it was Upload2.
So maybe it's feeling better after the short break. :)

It's in the opposite direction, but still ...
Just starting again with one machine. It's going to be 3 EU and 1 PNW.
So, still no Mex to see if that's still a problem.

And the total on the Server Status page has now dropped below 38,000.
At this rate we'll be out of work before Christmas. :)

I've just uploaded some EU, SAS, and PNW zips with no problems at all, so currently everything is OK.

Jim

Add the next 2 lines to the log_flags section:

<http_debug>1</http_debug>
<http_xfer_debug>1</http_xfer_debug>

**********

So that you get the following:

<cc_config>
<log_flags>
<http_debug>1</http_debug>
<http_xfer_debug>1</http_xfer_debug>
</log_flags>
<options>
<http_1_0>1</http_1_0>
</options>
</cc_config>

These 2 will write lots of extra lines in the Event Log, which may give a clue as to where the transfer is failing.

There are 2 problems with this:
1) LOTS of extra lines, so you'll need to turn them off when you finish. (Change the 1 (one) to 0 (zero). )
2) I haven't used these for years, and I don't remember how to tell what's important.

Hi Byron

No probs.
It's good to know someone else has sent some OK.
Did yours upload without the cc_config?

It's a bit of a mystery at the moment, because of the lack of clues.

Hi Les,
out of curiosity I went and,
open up my <cc_config> with Notepad,
and I copy and paste below:
on this computer I only run one project: Climateprediction.net

Wow! I don't know why my <cc_config> is so long?
I guess I should edit my <cc_config> and get rid of the tags I don't need?
but I am a little scared I might screw my <cc_config> up,
because it seems to be working ok.

anyway it's Wedsday 2 AM here on the west coast of Canada now,
I'm a bit sleepy, so I think I will catch some ZZZZzzzz's and crash.
see you later.
