Even though the credit updates work on this site, it has been several days since the credits have been updated on any external site. |

Yes, I'd noticed that too. If we don't get our credits on the external sites tomorrow evening I'll email the programmers. Thanks for the reminder. Cpdn news |

As we still haven't received a credit update on the external sites today, I've emailed the programmers to ask whether the program that exports our credits is inadvertently turned off. Cpdn news |

For me, the credits haven't been updated neither on this site nor on any of the stats sites (BOINCStats, FreeDC) since 1/13... :- For me, the stats have been updating on this site, as well as on Boinc Manager, but since Jan 13, not on any external stats sites. Seems like the script that is supposed to export the stats is not running. |

Seems like the script that is supposed to export the stats is not running. That's correct. Several of them have been turned off to make backups and do other things related to the upgrading of the site. Feel free to go outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while this is in progress. :) Backups: Here |

Since I'm new to this, I have to ask. As above I also had a problem with the site and the external sites not updating. Today I noticed that the BOINC client shows a discrepancy between the user and host stats. Is this the same problem? |

Credits on this project are different to all others. Here, once every <fill in current value>*, various scripts are run that re-calculate ALL totals for each computer/user/team. Then the export files are created for the stats sites to access. So if the scripts were interrupted during their VERY LONG run, the various totals will be out of sync. But it doesn't matter. Just wait patiently for <x amount of time>, and they'll be run again, and everything will be back to normal. Whatever that is. ************** * I think the scripts were being run every 2nd day, but it changes. Backups: Here |

At the time I made my post, neither one had been updated, the credits on this page (account page or here in the forum under the user name) were identical (and missing updates) to BOINCstats and FreeDC. When I checked today, the stats here seem to be updated (so somewhat too low at a first glance), but still no update externally....For me, the credits haven't been updated neither on this site nor on any of the stats sites (BOINCStats, FreeDC) since 1/13... :- Ralf |

Any news on this issue? It's almost Tuesday over there on the old coast, so I would assume (wrongly?) that someone had a day to look at the problem... tia, Ralf |

As I posted here, a little way down this thread, the project is under going the long awaited upgrade.Sorry, but I did not see anything like this mentioned, I am not hanging out at the forum each and every day. I let some computers do their crunching thing, which for the most part works just fine. it's only when something seems out of whack that I try to find out what's going on. A note about "ongoing maintenance" would be nice to be added to the server status page, that's likely the first place people like me will be looking at... Ralf |

Again credits are not updated on statistics sites. |

Yes, it has been a while. And perhaps some other scripts aren't running as well. I'll email them. |

Les, maybe it is just the admin's way of letting you know they like to hear from you periodically <smile> |

I'm trying to teach a class about BOINC and climate modeling, and we are PURELY doing this project. This update couldn't have come at a less timely time. I was trying to turn some new people onto BOINC, and you are making that very difficult with your seemingly putting these scripts on the back burner. |

When I look at my stats under the team I am a member of, it matches the figure BOINC tells me. I can only assume it is some of the external sites that aren't being updated. Does that really detract from what you are teaching? Currently there are more computers looking for work than work available so there isn't much need for stimulating competition to get the work done. In my book that means sorting out any problems that get in the way of getting the results back to the researchers as quickly as possible should take priority. Most here take part more because they believe in the need for the work than to chase statistics, fun though they can be at times. |

I'm trying to teach a class about BOINC and climate modeling, and we are PURELY doing this project. This update couldn't have come at a less timely time. Tell your students to compare the credits they see on this site - which seem to be updating correctly - and the figures on whichever external site they've looked at. They should be encouraged by the project's own figures, and learn something useful about statistics from the third-party analysts. The admins are aware of the problem, and are looking into it - but even when the systems are running smoothly, the end-to-end process of seeing processed stats on external sites can easily take 24 hours, sometimes more, if the multiple independent steps don't dovetail cleanly. |

There is more to this than just "stats chasing" that you seem to imply repeatedly, my main objective when checking the stats site (BOINCStats) for any significant deviation from the average "production numbers" usually indicates that something is amiss. That can be either one (or multiple) of the many hosts that I have running or it can be the project that is having issues. To check out which of those it might be simply requires more (significant) effort than the usual"fire and forget". Ralf |

Having no jobs is even worse. Choosing this project over Harvards on the world community grid was as horrific decision. BTW, the sites "internal" stats only give total credit, not credit since joining....and if you haven't noticed, they aren't exactly right either. For me they're going up and down, but either way.....The stats thing could be much better illustrated through a 3rd party site. Not that that's the only thing this is about - HOWEVER, I do feel it is part of what keeps people donating and being apart of these projects (which is what I'd ideally like to have done.) But my timing and the timing of this project could not have been more off. #badidea is all I can say. I'm sticking with it, so. . .hoping it improves. |
