Consider this project to be a credit free zone for now and some time into the future.

No longer a credit free zone. My credits are now up to date. Thanks.

Same here :) thanks to the Staff, scientists and all Volunteer Cruncher for your dedication to this Project :)

Could you please tell us whether you have seen your credits updated on any of the external stats sites?

Jonathan has been reconfiguring the entire credits collection process(es) but as far as I know the job isn't yet finished. He's been increasing the security of the process and redesigning it. It's a very big job because CPDN awards credits on a different basis from other projects.

Just checked BAM and no credit update as of now.

I would like to that all for their hard work in getting the credits back to updating again.

BOINCstats' last update from CPDN was 2014-03-29 at 12:07 GMT but there hasn't been any credit increase since 2014-02-27.

Free-DC's last credit increase was on 2014-03-17.

I just got a big credit jump at BOINCstats. However, it's only up to the level that that has been showing at Free-DC since 2014-03-17 and is still about 23K short of the total showing on my account here at CPDN.

There are three parts to the credit process:

(1) Calculation of credits in CPDN (from trickles).
(2) Export of a summary of those credits to a public location.
(3) Collection of that summary by external stats sites.

All three of these stages go wrong from time to time. There has been a change in (2) recently, which may have prevented (3) working properly. From your post it appears that BOINCstats has figured out how to get the data again. If the totals are out of date, since (1) is now working it must be (2) that has failed. No doubt a member of the project team will kick that server in due course.

None of the top 300 CPDN crunchers have had any credit at BoincStats for more than a month. Here's another random page there:

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/2/user/list/0/1200/0

If you look at the details for a random (active - with RAC) user on that page, you see something like this:

Current Credit based on incremental update 2,065,368.21
Comprising 2,000,714.40 from the daily update
+ 64,653.81 since then

(that's for #1215 Mike)

We are part-way through the update cycle: I suspect Mo's link will look very different in a couple of hours' time.

I'm with ritterm: BOINCstats has found the stats export table which Free-DC found on March 17. Whether BOINCstats (Willy) changed his script to look in the place that Free-DC was looking, or whether the project staff put a copy in the place Willy was looking at already, I couldn't tell you. But it doesn't appear that any site has found a usable export since March 17, which suggests that Iain's diagnosis of a problem at stage 2 is near the mark.

Edit - quicker than I expected. Mo's list has updated already.

No site has been updated since March 17. The only thing today was BoincStats getting up-to-date with FreeDC.

I wonder -- I realize the position has been 'limited resources' and focusing on higher priorities. But just how much effort is it expected to take to run a script which in the past ran pretty much automatically?

Over the past year or so, the Uni has tightened it's security measures, including gradually sitting all computers in VMs. This is what "recently" broke the tangled mess that is "several" credit scripts.
And apparently, if you play around with one of the scripts, another one that doesn't seem connected starts giving strange results.
Personally, I'd rather it was left until there's some REAL spare time to have a good long, calm, relaxed look at it all.

Right now though, Andy and Jonathan, plus a handful of beta testers, are running on the spot as fast as we can to finish testing of the Next Big Thing, which is WAY behind schedule.

(Notice the new model at the bottom of the Server Status page?
Notice my use of the word Big?)

Yeah, noticed all that.
Also noticed that the "No Work" thread died,
Also see the "server status" -- seems like there is plenty work and more to come.

But, geez, my graphs on boincstats are so lumpy!

Been here about a decade. Credit will be posted sooner or later.

No worries, keep on crunching.

Thanks to the tech crew.

BOINCstats and Free-DC just got another update. My CPDN totals are now behind only by a day or two, at most, I think.

BOINCstats got two big updates, so it seems to be back on track, kind of...

The credits on the bottom of the CPDN account page though is still off, but I certainly can live with that.

As I mentioned before, it's, for me at least, not as much an issue of the credits itself but the fact that they at some point "just fall of the wagon". And that commonly indicates something is amiss with the project.

Jonathan has been "having a look at things". Hooray!

The credits "down there" for various projects, come from an external source. "Net something".
It was noticed "a little while back" that something was amiss with them. I don't remember any details, but I guess that this is "the next item to comment on".

Possibly after someone mentions the correct name. :)
