Hello. I have a work unit that seems to be stuck. On my boinc client it says it's 100% done, but when I look at the graphics it says: 1,037,232 of 1,039,392 99.79% done. I recently had 2 other WUs that I was deep into crater when I unplugged my computer (long story)......but man, I'd hate for both me and this project to lose this WU that's virtually 100% done. And it seems to be froze. Can anybody help me so we don't lose this WU? |

If the model is hadcm3n_79yv_1980_40_008424202_1, then the final trickle has been uploaded and in all probability the final Zip (i.e. the fourth one). That means the model is finished from the scientific point of view. However, the HADCM3N models do sometimes fail to stop, which is what may have happened to that one. Suspending the model, stopping BOINC and restarting BOINC will generally cause the model to finish. It might report a crash of some sort but that is just a cosmetic problem - the model is finished. (And if the fourth Zip hasn't been uploaded then there is nothing you can do about it other than re-run the model from a backup, so you might as well provoke the model to finish.) |

Thanks. Yes - what I was talking about was: http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=16216875 It appeared as if it crashed on my computer at the end when I rebooted, but...it seems to have given me credit (and hopefully it sent in proper results). It took like 12 days of CPU time, so.....that'd suck to lose that in either respect). I'm happy it seems to have worked out. |
