I am getting the following error each time I reboot the computer.

<img src="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/pcbitsandbytes/boincerrormsg.jpg">

Clicking on OK clears the error message and BOINC (4.05) then appears to run normally.
I am running Windows XP SP2 Home edition and have Boinc in the Startup folder.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks, Red Squirrel

This sounds like it could be a permissions issue like BOINC cannot create the output log-file because the permissions on the machine are preventing it from doing so.

I have not got XP Home edition here, but have XP Pro. Do you have a number of user accounts on the machine? If so is the one you are loggin in as a restricted user?

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the info.
I think I've solved the problem. I had manually added Boinc_gui to the Startup folder (I just use the owner account on the machine), then I found it was already in the Common Startup folder. I've disabled the one in the Startup folder and everything seems to be working fine now,
