BOINC has stopped running Climateprediction for me after issuing the message:

Message from server: UK Met Office HadCM3 short needs 826.30MB more disk space. You currently have 973.70 MB available and it needs 1800.00 MB.

I increased the allowable disk space only a few weeks ago after getting a similar message. /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/climateprediction.net currently has 8.8GB.

Most of the space is taken up with various hadcm3s files:

Should I delete these?

Actually, I'm going to remove the project and re-join it, that's simplest, I think.

All that you need to do, is manually delete folders for models that are still on the computer, but not in the Tasks tab.

These will be models that have failed/crashed.

This is a known problem, then? Is it going to be fixed?

I've now disabled HadCM3 short in my preferences.

To be honest, my patience with the project is wearing thin. I re-joined a few months ago after a break of a few years, and it's been one problem after another, after another.

wE ARE wee - "{sCIENTISTS"

AND YOU, and I, == we are lousey "volunteers" so waste our time, "scientists" -- prove that you can't have a clue about initial conditions -- prove that you "scientists" throw totally broken models at us lous volunteers.

This tota;ck

US - ever so competent "Scientists"

You thought I was drunk? from the scrambled up-there ?

No -- I 'm as totally competent and caring as the apparently not-caring - blundering - "scientists" who can't or don't care what crap broken models they throw at is volunteers.

I want an apology from whoever submitted this last blunder-crap batch.

I have no models running at the moment, but 2.1GB of data exists for climateprediction.net

To clear space as per your instructions, I've deleted an old directory in c:\ProgramData\Boinc\projects\climateprediction.net named hadcm3n_8bct_1980_40_008724136.

I'm also seeing a lot of .zip, .exe, .dll, .xml, .gz, and .jpg files in c:\ProgramData\Boinc\projects\climateprediction.net.

Can I delete all of these files as well without messing up future models?

Thanks.

You can delete all the data files of any models when you have no models running

Actually, the easy way is -- just detach the project, and re-attach - clears all the old stuff away.

If you delete too many files (when not running anything) -- the files you delete will be downloaded again. But the best way to clear -- when you have no models running --

Detach from the project and re-attach.

Cleans your disk, cleans your account, clean clean.
