I've exhausted the expert advice over the past few weeks regarding WU's (not all the same WU type)'failing' after (typically) 10 secs (sometimes a little more seconds).

How do I reinstall the CPD desktop software without messing up my system

is believed to be the cause of this problem. Please test the suggestion I've made in HadCM3 short - errors galore and report back.

You don't need to touch the CP(D)N software, but you do need to uninstall BOINC - that leaves your personal data, including 'running' (-ish) climate models and work for any other science projects, untouched and ready to resume.

Then, install the older version of BOINC from the links I've provided in the other thread - you'll need the x86_64 version, to match your current data.

I did your suggested backdown to BOINC V7-036. CPN WU's are going OK now. Also have WCG WU running and its ok.

Know it well. 50 years ago I (and the rest of my family) was living in Didsbury, just up the road. The name is coincidental - the family name originated in Sussex, I believe.
