I have recently successfully completed a HadCM3 short v7.24 work unit, which has a minimum quorum of 1. However my credit, both clsimed and granted, is zero. Is this temporary, or have I 'lost' the credit for whatever reason? |

Credits are created differently on this project, by some scripts which count ALL trickle_up files that have been returned. But we've had problems with these scripts running amok since all of our servers became VMs. They now have to be run manually one line at a time, which only happens once or twice a month. There's a thread here which started out talking about it, but has now become a place for whinging. |

Two weeks now and several short tasks have supposedly finished and uploaded with not credit. I really do not care about the credits but it seems silly to waste my computers time with if nothing useful us happening. There are other shared tasks that I could be contributing to. |

There is a lot which is 'useful' about studying climate science, apart from the generation of BOINC credits. You might receive more credits from other projects, but would you really be contributing? |

Actually "failing"models can help a lot! cause of the total complexity of climate modeling. SETI was simple, and has failed, and nobody really thought that the "others" would be so stupid to broadcast their whereabouts. The many many protein folding sites -- well -- no good results yet. Climate -- even more difficult -- but way way more likely to help our creepy lousy dumb stupid species to survive. So I keep on giving to the BOINC climate modelers. Because I'm a really really intelligent person, and I think that working, or breaking, climate models might actually help my grand-kids a bit. :) |

Steve, Les explained the credit situation two posts above yours. Credit will be sorted out when Andy gets time to baby-sit a manual credit run. Eirik's and Richard's comments are valuable, too.
