It's not a matter of "getting rid of them", as this project considers all issued tasks as "of interest", and they remain on a server somewhere.

However, I've floated an idea, so time will see how far it gets.

It's not going to happen.
Apparently, any changes to a work unit after it's created, cause problems with the BOINC software.

So, anyone having problems with the "short" models will just have to put up with them, or apply the off switch.

The new ones are looking good. I have 13 downloaded without error and 4 completed. They run a little over 20 hours on an Ivy Bridge machine.

Is it normal for HadCM3s tasks to build up a disk space usage of 20 GB while running (all) 8 threads of them simultaneously? Strangely, it's still the very same 20 GB having finished 5 of them and running the remaining 3. 6 more are suspended and until now never been started. I have only 600 MB free and should run out of disk space before the remaining 3 are completed. (Boinc 7.2.42 64-bit, Linux Mint on VBox Windows 8, Core i7)

The finished tasks may not be cleaning up after themselves. Check the Boinc folder in the ProgramData to see if old reported tasks are still there.

Thanks, you're right, old tasks were not deleted. I found a lot of them as folders under /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/climateprediction.net . Is my client misconfigured or is this a known issue?

Reading some posts suggest it is no longer an issue with windows boxen. On my boxes which are both Linux, after models finish I have to delete the model folders manually. Be careful - on one occasion I deleted the wrong folder and crashed a task that was still running!

And I didn't check earlier but the file location confirms that Herna's computer is Linux.

This may be showing a great deal of prejudice but I tend to assume that Linux users usually understand their file system well enough to be able to find the directory to delete!
