Some time ago, I was being frequently interrupted in my work by multiple windows opening telling me that there was a visual fortran error, termination in an unexpected way, etc., so I suspended processing while I was at the machine. This worked fine, but it occurred to me it would be simpler to set the hours of permitted operation so that processing would occur only when I was not using the machine. I set my computing preferences to allow hours of operation only between 0200 and 1200 hours, on both the "default" and "school" profiles (used by my two machines) yet the setting is being ignored as the error windows are plaguing me once again. Does anyone have an idea why this might be? I am assuming that manual suspension of processing on a project and "do not allow work" mean the same thing. Perhaps they do not? |

Were did you set the restrictions. Did you use the “tools” tab on the Boinc Manager interface and then “Computer Preferences” or did your use the “When and how BOINC uses your computer” on you account page. They may be in conflict. Computer preferences setting on the interface tab will override those on the account page, but, only for that computer. |

I used the "when and how", so I will use the TOOLS tab on the manager as I see it has no time restriction. Thanks very much. |
