I am on 7.20.1 and haven't had any problems. Which projects cause errors? Rosetta/Pythons and QuChemPedIA that I know of. But you are on Windows. That is an entirely different security arrangement than Linux. ID: 65631 · |

Plus another 2 one of which has failed 3 times before - libraries in one case file system in the other 2 (Science United and two anonymous users). Query: Should anonymous users be allowed? Should there be (or is there) a mechanism to block machines that have frequent failures? ID: 65635 · |

My own view is that SU machines should be blocked but I will give this a little time to see if other views are around before suggesting it to the project. ID: 65636 · |

looking at your Linux computer your computer shows, Memory 0.95 GB By the time you take off overheads, that won't leave enough memory to run tasks. When you update the project, post the following half dozen lines from the log. (<tools> ,event log>0 This will I think confirm the diagnosis. If you are running Linux in a VM, the solution is to allow the VM more memory. ID: 65639 · |

Still no windows work? :-( Oh well, for those interested, WCG is sending out Africa Rainfall tasks. They run on 1 CPU core (in Windows, don't know about other OSes) and take 16 hours on a Ryzen 9 3900XT and 4 days 6 hours on a Xeon X5650. Server not up to full speed yet, so you may need to pester it for work, but they only have a 2 minute backoff. ID: 65677 · |

That's about what the N216 tasks are estimated to take on "default" performance numbers, before benchmarks have been run. After a while, BOINC will run the benchmarks, and any new tasks downloaded will have a more reasonable estimate, but the ones already present won't update to the new estimate. It should take 15 days or so, depending on your hardware. ID: 65688 · |
