I have been running CP for some bit now. even tho I still have weeks of time left on WU. Lately I have been noticing the CP isnt doing any work it gives me this message.... climateprediction.net - 2004-09-19 21:00:15 - Restarting result 00e9_300025498_0 using hadsm3 version 4.03 SETI@home - 2004-09-19 21:00:15 - Pausing result 26ap04aa.7733.19776.384654.106_0 (removed from memory) climateprediction.net - 2004-09-19 22:00:15 - Pausing result 00e9_300025498_0 (removed from memory) SETI@home - 2004-09-19 22:00:15 - Restarting result 26ap04aa.7733.19776.384654.106_0 using setiathome version 4.03 Basicly it stops work on SETI and moves to CP only to stop and go back to work on SETI. It just keeps doing that all day. AMD 2800 Barton 512 mb ddr XP Pro SP1 tons of disk space Any ideas as to whats going on? Oh I got an email from CP stating I needed to change one numbers due to some WU problem. But this problem existed prior to email and even after email fix applied. |

Welcome to the wonderful world of boinc pre-emptive scheduling. In essence, after it achieves equilibrium according to your Preferences, it gives an hour to each project (to the extent it can maintain your Preferences). Theoretically, at least. To keep from unnecessary 'backsliding' and re-processing in CPDN, be sure to allow suspended projects to remain resident in memory in your Preferences. (Leave suspended applications in memory = YES.) Otherwise, CPDN falls back to last checkpoint. HTH. Oops, forgot. Re. your other question, see this thread: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=757 |
