And another reason for holding on and hoping is that there doesn't seem to be any other work at the moment! |

Have just checked and my one from batch 406 is for a linux based machine not Windows. Had been timed out of its previous machine after 11 months. Debating whether to abort. |

I know there was a batch which would never download because of problems. Most of them were pulled but those that got out get two re-tries before the system gives up on them. It sounds like batch 406 may be one of them but difficult to tell when it seems to be happening to all tasks. - The one I have stalled, actually sent up a couple of zips before being abandoned/failing so I know that bit of the task is probably OK. If you have the time to do a trawl through old messages you can probably find out if 406 was the batch in question. If I spot anything I will re-post. |

Have done a forum search for 406 and the only hits are in this thread(-; In that case it is likely the task has just timed out because the computer in question has been switched off or not running BOINC. - None of that users computers have contacted the project since September last year. |

I ran a number of batch 406 models a while ago. There's nothing wrong with that batch that I can see. There are lots of things wrong with the current restored servers (missing trickles being a big one). It's pretty safe to assume that the stalled downloads are just one of those problems, though if the support files for those old batches have been lost then the reissued models may have to abandoned at some point. The project will presumably tell us if that is the case. |
