As it was still up and running, a few tweets on the climateprediction.net home page would have helped. Nothing on climateprediction.net or cpdn.org was up for me for about three weeks. |

In which case, switch to the BOINC site under Projects. Here I don't think that any of the mods use social media, and the project people were on leave, it being between terms at Oxford. |

Am I allowed to ask what just happened or will I get in trouble? I checked at the BOINC site as was stated in this thread but nothing there either. I do have 14 zips\trickle ups waiting to go through at the moment. |

Ask away. I think that the important part of your question is "what just happened". So many different things have happened and still are. Assuming that you mean the last part of your post, then "Some things seem to work for some people, but not others." All of mine uploaded OK, including trickles, but not everything is being displayed. And NO trickles anywhere. All of which has been discussed, and Andy has gone off to have a headache. It's going to be a long wait before things get back to the way they were. Which may or may not pass for "normal". :) From Andy: Hi All, The project is now back online. There was a major issue with the server on which the master database resides. We are now running the project from the slave server. Over the coming weeks there will have to be brief periods of scheduled downtime to switch back to using the master database machine. Best regards, Andy |

Got it, thank you. I don't want to get anyone upset when I ask a question, people seem to be a little edgy. I still have 21 trickles waiting, I'll sit on them and see what happens, it would be nice to get them in before tomorrow night. |

If the tomorrow night deadline is to get the trickles included in this week’s credit scripts run I wouldn’t count on it running this week. Credits have always been given a very low priority. With all that the staff has to do I doubt that the credit script will run this week unless it is (a) completely automatic and (b) it doesn’t put unnecessary stress on the backup server that is keeping the project up and running until the main server is fixed. |

The 2 wu's running on my PC have been reset to 0%, when one of them was around 90% completed. Is that normal ? Reset to 0% again today. Now 0.3%, with 17 days spent and 5301 days remaining. Is it a joke ? |

I had 2 tasks running, and both have the same problem. It appeared when trying to send a trickle message to the server when it was out of order, and everything was OK before. |

The way to test my theory would be to set internet access to suspended. If they then go to 100% then it is something to do with the server problems. If it repeats it is the tasks. It is many years since I last had a task do this so I make no pretence at speaking Ex-Chathedra on this matter. |

Is any one else having a problem with trickles going through? I have 2GB waiting and the status page shows everything green. |

At long last mine went 'home' last night (Time Zone Z-8). At the moment, everything is stuck --> one of the promised database outages holds sway. "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

Status page is out of date - Task data as of 1 Apr 2018, 13:38:39 UTC I have got stuck trickles and I have also had another task report trickles and report on completion. Kevin |

Hi all, Clearly the site is not operating properly on the backup system and we should all just wait for the team to address problems next week. I'm temporarily suspending work to prevent additional upload/download attempts which are clearly not working and probably just adding to the problem. Hopefully Les can provide an update early next week. |

I have now suspended my SAM50 which is the WU with trickle upload problems. SAS50 as well. Kevin |

Okay guys, thanks for replying, I didn't see that date at the bottom of the page. This has got to be one of the most complicated projects on BOINC, I'm struggling to remember. I'm still pretty chapped over having all my credits taken away. |

I'm still pretty chapped over having all my credits taken away. Having been with the project since the days of dial up though originally with a different user name, I can say that credits have disappeared completely a few times over that period but they have always been sorted in the end. The trouble is that information that I know find reassuring like that fact isn't easy to track down so each time there is a major problem lots of people (myself included sometimes) ask questions that have been asked perhaps in different forms in the past. |

I'm not getting these credits back, I had my computers stolen 3 1/2 years ago. Now that I'm back up and running I've discovered that it's happened to this account, over 300 forum posts and approximately 1.5 million credits. This day and age, they might be worth money though I don't data mine. |

traffic jam in both directions here & I am looking for my any key, or at the least suspending the project once the current traffic jam has cleared until a few more of the bumps & potholes of the servers recovery road are ironed out. 13+ hours trying to download 4 tasks is making dial up look fast. till semi working including having the forums back here is better than alone in the wilderness of waiting. |

I have now suspended my SAM50 which is the WU with trickle upload problems. The trickles that were stuck seem to have unstuck themselves, I have checked the event log and they have uploaded and the task has reported. Trickles are now even showing on the tasks pages and so is the finished task. And thats all happened on a Sunday!!! I shall now resume crunching the suspended WU's. Kevin |
