It looks like the regular Saturday credit run was successful this time.
I got some more, and at long last BOINCstats is showing an updated users list for everyone.

While it is good to see the credit script running, I am not confident that my RAC is correct. It is down to about a third of the RAC I had before the outage, even though I am doing the same amount of computing.

I think that the Trickles that my Event Log shows are being recorded and my completed Tasks have credit shown, so why the decrease in my RAC? Are the recent tasks giving less credit these days?

The trickles have been missing since about the 11th.
The project has been informed.

Thanks Les for keeping us advised...realize it's often a thankless task with all the recent problems.

Well we were chugging along getting Credits posted every 6, 7 or 8 days which was WONDERFUL.

We are now at Day 9 on our current string. Did we have a holiday across the Pond or do we have a stuck script ?

I know that it is never wise to question the Wizard of Oz, but as the National Inquirer says "inquiring Minds Wish To Know"

I see that the credit script didn’t run this weekend. Is it broken again?

I see that the credit script failed to run again over the weekend. Any idea when it will run again?

It did run, but as there's been a problem with the trickles since the 23rd, nothing was produced.

I sent an email yesterday, so hopefully something will get done soon.

The trickles still haven't shown up in spite of another email, so there'll be no credits this weekend either.

Well we are almost to a month now with no credits. Our old friend is back.

If this was not a worthwhile project no one would put up with no work and no credit and limited communications from the top.

Darn good thing that there are many other worthwhile projects to burn clock cycles on.

The missing trickles problem was fixed on the 5th, and it's now VERY early on Saturday, UK time.
So a few more hours yet before they're due.

Well, it appears that there's no credit this weekend either.

Another email tomorrow, and then I'm dropping the subject.

Hi Les -- Do you get any response specific to your question about the script that calculates the credits, or does all this fall on "deaf ears" ?

Yes, I get replies.
It seems though, that at the moment the servers are having problems of some sort.
This is the first time that I've been able to get to the board in over day.

It is now several weeks that no credits are given which is the least a BOINC project could do for its volunteers.

I left calculating and will only join again if I see my credit moving.

I noticed several problems over the last months so I can only conclude this whole project is badly managed with no respect for the volunteers contributing to it.

Bye bye

Hi,

The issue yesterday and over the last few days with accessing the servers appeared to be a rogue process from a client somewhere that had launched well over 100 queries of the database searching for successful workunits on that particular host system. Following restarting of both the DB and scheduler those tasks have disappeared and not returned so far. If (when) they return we will have to look at who is the offending machine but this is tricky with the large number of active WU we have at the moment as we have to identify the offending httpd which is generating the DB query to find the IP etc.

Hello,

Apologies that the credit issue has still not been fixed since Les last notified the project team. We will be investigating tomorrow as I had wrongly assumed this would have been fixed by now. Our volunteers are important to us and we understand your frustration. Please bear with us while we try and fix this

whilst under the constraints of project deliverables and time we are reviewing how we as a project interact with these boards to ensure there is a more regular project appearance here.
