https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1364417 You have to think that at least some of them either read the boinc manager notification, or saw the top story on the front page. But we'll never know how many. I don't think the e-mails have had much effect as they've been told to contact a moderator, and I've only had two contacts. Both had their PCs re-enabled after installing (or trying to install) the libraries. One actually did, the other, on a Debian PC, obviously didn't use the right command. I doubt that the other moderators have gotten more than a handful of contacts since the e-mail went out, but I could be wrong. |

A Christmas list: The first one has many in progress. It seems to have found a new way to fail. https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1495844 https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1490273 https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1468180 |

One question. Why is this thread in the climate science section and not in the number crunching section? No reason, just that I have always wondered. |

The original thread was started by Mo about 6 years ago. I wondered myself, why here, but I never got around to asking her. |

This is interesting. The 1107 errors are not surprising, but how did he get a valid UK Met Office HadCM3 short v8.34 i686-pc-linux-gnu? Don't they require the 32-bit libraries too? https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1472944 |

This is interesting. The 1107 errors are not surprising, but how did he get a valid UK Met Office HadCM3 short v8.34 i686-pc-linux-gnu? He ran two tasks back in Feb, the hadcm3s that completed, and an early hadam4 that trickled, but errored out before finishing. The next tasks that the computer ran were in Sep and that's when things went wrong. My guess is he saved the boinc data directory, then copied it into a new installation on the same PC, or on another PC, which hasn't had the libraries installed. |

Yes, that works. I continue to see many machines without the libraries. |

That machine has been dealt with. <cue evil laugh.> |

I am long past the question of how people can never check their machines. The question now is how can the completion statistics change if nobody can run them? https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1397790 https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1482889 https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1489594 https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1497749 Maybe you should just ban everyone until they can present a certificate of compliance. |

Can someone make this one a sticky? Is there a way to block all non-compliant PCs. It takes a lot of resources to report misconfigured machines https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1498245 https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1493995 this has been reported in November but hasn't been blocked https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1503343 a new fella created 28 April https://www.cpdn.org/results.php?hostid=1472002 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1496283 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1479116 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1484003 |

Maybe you should just ban everyone until they can present a certificate of compliance. Or competence, though on Mandrake/Mandriva which I think I was running when I first started, it wasn't always straightforward finding all the 32bit libs though I suspect I would have little difficulty tracking them down now. |

Il y a très peu de travail pour le moment, et ce n'est que pour Linux. Un lot de 600 tâches Windows a été publié il y a quelques jours, mais il y a plus de 10 000 ordinateurs Windows en attente de travail. ******************* There is very little work at the moment, and that is only for Linux. A batch of 600 Windows tasks was released a couple of days ago, but there are 10,000 plus Windows computers waiting for work. |
