I tried adding to BOINC (windows) following the instructions but it came back saying "account creation disabled" or something. So I signed up for this forum and put those details in to the "new project" dialog, it seemed to accept it but whenever I connect there is no work available. |

The project is still going and there is work but only for Linux based applications at the moment. Though in the long term this is not a normal state of affairs and looking at the project status page there are something in the region of 50K tasks being crunched currently on Windows machines against less than a tenth of that on Linux. The Windows tasks around recently have all been region specific and the Linux ones global models. The work is these days sent out by Oxford but comes from universities all over the world so the project has very little control if any over what type of tasks go out or the flow of work. I don't really know enough about what makes some tasks more suitable for using one application type over another to comment on that. The testing branch has been quiet for a while as well now so I have no idea what is on the way next. |

OK thanks I'll keep it going and hopefully one day I'll get some work to process. |
