Hi,
I changed all my old Boinc Projects to my actual email. Only the climateprediction account doesn't let me login.
I tried sending a new password to all possible emails I used since 2005, but it always says "There is no account with email...".

Is there a way to get access again? I found my username and my id. It is not marked as "old".
I can see the account in boincstats, but without the credits.

There is a comment about this in the find old email thread on this board. Unused accounts have been disabled to comply with GDPR.

Boincstats won't display credits until you agree to the GDPR Compliance conditions, so that the project can export them.

This is on this page: cpdn, under climateprediction.net project GDPR Compliance

The only reason that I can think of why you can't find your old account, is because you were absent from the project for an extended period.
Unused accounts were scrubbed about 2-3 years back.

However, you say that you have found your account, so that's probably not it.

Another thought.
You said :

For cpdn, this HAS to be done from cpdn's website. It CAN'T be done from Boincstats.

Changes to a cpdn account that used to be able to be done from Boincstats, can no longer be done from there.

Thanks for your answers.

My problem has become a little bit clear.

On an old computer I managed to get new workunits with my old account 134123 (TypVomDeister). I have no idea, why this does not work on the newer machines.
That means the account is alive.

I sent a private message to the old account and did not get it on any of my email accounts.
I'm afraid I used an address back then, that I no longer have access to today.

So it seems to be possible to work with my old account, but I can't login on this webpage.
Is there a way to change an email, I do not have access to?

Double click on the old account number you've just posted.
Control c
Click on your name to the left of your post.
This should take you to the public account page of your OLD account.

Double click on the number in the url window at the top of the page.
Control v
Enter

This should put you on the same page of your OLD account.

At this point I'm not too sure. Security has been tightened up so much recently.
One of the changes was preventing "Change of email address", and I'm not sure if there were loose ends when a solution was found.
However, try the following:
***************************

Near the top left of the page, just under the globe:
Click on cpdnboinc

On the next page, left hand side:
Click on Continue to your home page

On your Account page, 5 items down (Change):
Click on email address

Type in the new one.

This can not work if there is any security in the login process.

I will only have a change, if someone with the appropriate rights would help me and change my data for me.
Otherwise I only can see the credits in the boincclient and will have to deal with it.

Is anyone reading this forum, that have the appropriate rights?

One of us would have to ask Andy to do that. Have you tried signing in with the authenticator? You can sign in to your account with this rather than the email and password it is found in the file account_climateprediction.net.xml which on a default ubuntu installation is found in /var/lib/boinc-client
Please do not private message myself or other moderators for help. This limits the number of people who are able to help and deprives others who may benefit from the answer.

I did not manage to sign in with the authenticator an official way. Nevertheless, that was the crucial point.
Many thanks for this hint!!

I saw before the number in the cookie for this website looks like a boinc id.

For those who have the same problem:
- you need a boinc installation connected with the old account.
- open /var/lib/boinc-client/account_climateprediction.net.xml in an editor
- copy the id from the line <authenticator>12345678901234567890123456789012</authenticator>
- login to https://www.cpdn.org/login_form.php with a new created account (or any other)
- edit the cookie for www.cpdn.org
- change auth value to the copied id and save the cookie
- now you are logged in with the old account and can change password and then email

Thank you Dave
