But server status page shows none down. This page seems to working fine. I've looked at a few of my computers and see no trickle-up errors. WCG wu's run, download, upload all OK. Attached to Rosetta OK, downloading a wu from there. Puzzlement. Zero dark 30 here. Will investigate further after sleep Any suggestions welcome. E |

Which machine are you talking about? You have eight Linux computers attached to the project, and one Windows computer. The Windows computer will be unable to contact the project at this time, because of a security certificate expiry in the ca-bundle.crt file. Wait for a new Windows client to be released - I have no idea of the timescale for that at the moment - or explore the workrounds being discussed on the BOINC message board. |

I do not have any Windows WU's but I corrected it this morning due to Collatz. So, we corrected it on our site but some servers? Never mind, not important. As long as they know but Les, is this an addiction? |

Which machine are you talking about? You have eight Linux computers attached to the project, and one Windows computer. This is and was the computer named Ilex on Debian oldstable which is visible on the CPDN website. I don't worry about the inability to attach to CPDN. There's other projects out there. WCG for ilex. Maybe sometime next week I'll finish a build of a Ryzen 5800X and will try to attach to CPDN. If that works -- cool. If not? No sleep lost. No work on CPDN anyhow. No worries. Would be interested if anyone has attached to "no work now" project CPDN" in the last 2 weeks. ? <edit> |

I tried to add CPDN to my two machines here, one added normally, it has not downloaded any work, but I can see it on the projects tab. The other machine Says "Failed to add project". It says that almost immediately, before it asks if I'm new or otherwise for example. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

Oh and there isn't any work apart from the occasional retread at the moment. |

Jean-David Beyer How do you do what? 1. Replace the bundle? or 2. Upgrade the BOINC version? Not a Windows person, but both should be simple enough. (The ca-bundle.crt on my Linux machine is at: /var/lib/boinc-client) |

How do you do what? How do I replace the bundle. On my machine, all the rest of the boinc stuff is in its own partition in /var/lib/boinc I did not have to do anything to replace the bundle on my Linux machine. It is dated 2021-09-30. but it is not in the boinc partition on that machine. The ca-bundle.crt on my Linux machine is at: /var/lib/boinc-client On my linux machine, that file is only in /etc. $ locate ca-bundle.crt /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt <---<<< ls -l /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 49 Jun 16 16:28 /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt -> /etc/pki/ca-trust/extracted/pem/tls-ca-bundle.pem $ ls -l /etc/pki/ca-trust/extracted/pem/tls-ca-bundle.pem -r--r--r--. 1 root root 200578 Sep 30 11:13 /etc/pki/ca-trust/extracted/pem/tls-ca-bundle.pem On the other hand, it is only in the boinc area of my Windows machine.. |

There's this post: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=14436&postid=105782#105782 in this thread: Collatz Conjecture issue for many users on the BOINC site. It seems to suggest upgrading BOINC. |

I have upgraded BOINC now for my WINE installs. The one in a VM seems to be working fine. haven't tested the other yet. |

And David Anderson has just released an official 7.16.20 Link in the first News item on the BOINC site. |

Upgrade to 7.16.20 fixed the issue I was seeing. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

It seems to suggest upgrading BOINC. Thank you. I figured out how to do that; but I am the opposite of a Windows expert. My first home computer (I used a lot of Main-Frame computers and some pretty large mini-computers at work for over 25 years) came with Windows 95 and I hated it so much I installed Red Hat Linux 5 back in about 1997. I upgraded that until RHL 9 (IIRC), did not like that and upgraded to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3. I upgraded that to RHEL 5, RHEL 6, and on my latest machine I had it shipped with RHEL 8 pre-installed. I have a little toy desktop running Windows 10 that I need for TaxAct and Garmin Express. Otherwise, I would never run Windows at all. And since it is there, I put Boinc client and boinc manager in it and it runs that all the time. It is smaller and somewhat slower than my main machine, and has only 1/4th the RAM. Anyhow, I just upgraded boinc-client and boinc-manager to 2021-Oct-3. It still won't download any CPDN work, but that is not a bug. I know there is no work for my machine but my guess is that I may get some when it becomes available. |

It's now December 11'th, 2021. Has there been any luck with fixing this problem? |

The project has been Linux only for a long while now. There's a thread here: Run Linux work units with Windows 10 WSL if you want to try the long way around. |
