When I post here, it attaches what I would call my signature box that lists the projects I am on or have been on. It lists, among other things my :"Rank" and my "Rank%". Do they mean what I think?

I.e,. are there really only about 160 people who have done more work than I have? Are there really only about 7.3% of the people who have done more work than I have? When I read there are people out there with 64 core machines and many with lots more than one or two machines, it does not seem likely that I should score this high. Is it just because I have been running for so long? Joined: 5 Aug 04

Yes, that’s exactly what it is showing and yes, one volunteer with a moderate machine can match a mega processor by running for a longer time as you have.

And Boinc Stats only shows those people who have allowed their stats to be exported to external stats sites. If you look the statistics here on this site (Computing -> Credit statistics -> Top participants) and sort the values by Total credit, you'll see that there are actually about 550 people who have done more work than you.

Though if you go to the computing tab at the top of this page, then credit statistics, participants are ranked in order of recent average credit rather than total credit.

Ah, I had thought that the entry was still exported but anonymised.

I see that. Perhaps I am now confused and a higher level and about more important things. Than why does that box give me a so much higher ranking?

That is the default, but I could click on the column heading and it then sorts on the total credit field.

I think that shows how long it is since I last looked there. Interesting that in just over a year out of a total credit of 8,856,378 my Ryzen has produced 5,289,357
