Are the relevant people aware www.climateprediction.net is down? And has been for a number of days. I'm following the main link from Boinc.Yes. There is a post in the getting started section that mentions it. Oxford IT dept are doing some work which involves messing around with the VM's. It is affecting sign up for new hosts which is what led to the post there. |

It may be intermittently available while they're working on it? My test shows the site is up, but when I go there, I get this: Ubuntu Logo Apache2 Default Page It works! This is the default welcome page used to test the correct operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Ubuntu systems. It is based on the equivalent page on Debian, from which the Ubuntu Apache packaging is derived. If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at /var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server. If you are a normal user of this web site and don't know what this page is about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to maintenance. If the problem persists, please contact the site's administrator. |

Opera on two different Windows machines gives: This site can’t be reached Check if there is a typo in www.climateprediction.net. Try: Running Windows Network Diagnostics Changing DNS over HTTPS settings DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN Check your DNS over HTTPS settings Firefox on two different Windows machines gives the far less useful Mac/American/idiot-user-friendly: Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site. We can’t connect to the server at www.climateprediction.net. If you entered the right address, you can: Try again later Check your network connection Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall) Ping gives: Ping request could not find host www.climateprediction.net. Please check the name and try again. Using ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt made no difference. It would appear the DNS server I'm using doesn't know about the site. I think I'm using my ISP (Plusnet)'s DNS server. |

When I try to connect to www.climateprediction.net I get a site can't be found message. When I try to connect to climateprediction.net (without "www" at the start I get: Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress. And with https:// or http:// at the start I randomly get the wordpress error or the site can't be found message. There's certainly something up with their site. |

When I try to connect to www.climateprediction.net I get a site can't be found message. There are some changes going on at Oxford Uni IT infrastructure that affect the CPDN virtual machines that run the site. I don't have a date when it will be back. CPDN are well aware it's not working and want to get it back ASAP, but the timing is not under their control. Some patience required. --- CPDN Visiting Scientist |

I try to add a client and get: 15/02/2024 15:18:59 | | Fetching configuration file from https://climateprediction.net/get_project_config.php 15/02/2024 15:18:59 | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 15/02/2024 15:19:00 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. Any Idea ? Yeti Supporting BOINC, a great concept ! |

There were problems at the beginning of the month, as discussed in this thread, but they seemed to have been cured. It is possible that there was another temporary glitch just as you were trying to attach: the quickest way to check the status of https://climateprediction.net is to click on the banner at the top of this page. It opened for me just now (although slowly): it might be worth another attempt now. |

Did you try clicking the banner? Your browser may be able to give you more evidence of the nature of the problem. |

If I view https://climateprediction.net/get_project_config.php in a browser, I see xml correctly shown, starting and ending with "<project_config>". You could try doing that. |

Did you try clicking the banner? Your browser may be able to give you more evidence of the nature of the problem. Shure, I did and it opened as it should Shortly I could see a message "Too many redirects" but then it opened fine Supporting BOINC, a great concept ! |

Got it, it was an 7.14.x client, after upgrading to 7.24.x it worked immediatly Hmm, for a while i was unable to attach a new client with 7.25 built from source. I wonder if it was coincidence with the timing and CPDN sorting things out after Oxford moved the VMs around? |
