I am running the latest ver of CP, my comp is a P4 2.4 with 512 mem, I run winXP pro. I also do BOINC work for setti@home (which works just fine), with the work load split between the two 50/50. Now I can download the cp work load and start procesing it, but after it works for about a half hour it comes up with a windows error and stops the procesing. and even after shuting down boinc it still wont proces the work unit, and it will try to work on setti's stuff, which is fine untill I run out of work units from setti. which leaves my computer sitting there not doing anything. WHY IS THIS? it is driving me mad come home after work to find out that my computer has sat there not doing anything all day because it glitched out a little while after I left. Any one out their have a suggestion or fix? anything wouid be apprecated. Well its been 20 hours since my last posting with out being able to find a fix so I just compleatly wiped BOINC from my computer and reloaded all the software from a clean slate. so far everything is runing fine, hopefully it stays that way and I can say that my problem was solved. |

I have the exact same problem, with an AMD XP3200, Win XP Home w/ SP2, a RAID 5 array, and watercooling. It has to be a software glitch. I only see it freeze with a Windows error when it's (attempting to) running CP, not SETI. I detached CP for a while to see if it happens again running just SETI. Rest at ease it's probably not your hardware. The rest of my hardware can be viewed at http://rebturtle.com/turtletech.htm |

Similar here. I didn't realize it, but I was going through my daily work quotas and not getting any work done, always a client error. |

Others of us run without a hitch, and on more than one machine. Most of the problems reported do seem to be machine specific, and if you have more than the occasional failure then it is best to detach and find the problem or to give up, depending on your temperament. Finding what is going wrong can take perseverence, but the evidence suggests that it will usually be possible to solve it. |
